    Version: Mozilla Firefox 1.0.4

"even better than sliced bread or sharks with lasers"

by BeLeBo on June 3, 2005

    Pros: (1) fast

    (2) faster than IE when used with firefox preloader

    (3) portable: lookup portable firefox

    (4) free

    (5) uses little space

    (6) can run from CD, DVD, or USB pendrive

    (7) customized to your level of geek with extensions

    (8) extensions are free

    (9) commplete control over javascript

    (10) control privacy options completely with extensions

    (11) extensions are cooler, and safer than distractiveX

    (12) searchplugins rock

    (13) search multiple engines simultaneously

    (14) really really take back the web with GreaseMonkey -- almost the power of proxomitron

    (16) non geeks can easily thwart ads with Platypus, RIP, and AdBlock

    (17) the same mindset that drives firefox development is behind all the adblock technologys: no ads no more

    (18) firefox community is friendly

    (19) big site by a netherlandese guy collects the extensions for easy use

    (20) malware proof (for non idiots)

    (21) frequently updated

    (22) community editons everywhere

    (23) tackles security issues almost immediately

    (24) makes looking at cnet almost bearable

Cons: (1) it's not embedded into the operating system like the IE cheater

    (2) it doesn't cook breakfast for me

    (3) it will not flay webmasters who insist on popup based navigation

    (4) likes ram like ants like sugar

    (5) updating via "the red button" sometimes corrupts profiles. having to unstall, backup profile, install update, and recreate a profile is a ***** even for geeks

I am so much looking forward to the day when Firefox closes toward 100% market penetration.

At that point, with Firefox' ad blocking, the internet as we know it will cease to exist. Just whom do you think websites (Yahoo! Google C-Net etc.) depend upon to provide your FREE access to the information that these websites provide ? Advertising.
