"Still freezes up due to too much memory usage"

    February 15, 2013  |   By injured_cowboy

    Version: Mozilla Firefox 18.0.2

    Pros

I didn't notice much of a change from the last version.

    Cons

Firefox tends to start using a lot of memory for some reason, which causes the screen to freeze up and the mouse won't move. I have to monkey around to get the mouse on frozen, bring up the task manager and end the process. Sometimes it does it numerous times in a row.

    "Fast and proved"

    February 12, 2013  |   By fhansson999

    Version: Mozilla Firefox 18.0.2

    Pros

    + Lots of addons
    + Nice themes
    + Many functions
+ Works on many operating systems
+ User interface is well proved

    Cons

    - Not very stable
    - Can be slow in loading and startup
    - Takes much memory

    Summary

Firefox has been a bit bloated over years and recently it was very unstable. I used Chrome for a period but changed back to Good ol' Firefox because of the many addons and support everywhere. It's pretty far from the fast runner up against MS Explorer it once was but it sure does it job well.

    "Fast and stable!"

    February 11, 2013  |   By wyzwyk

    Version: Mozilla Firefox 18.0.2

    Pros

Firefox is a great browser to customize with its collection of several thousand extensions. When it comes to addons nothing is remotely close to this browser.

    Cons

With the frequent release schedule you will sometimes see compatibility problems with addon extensions. While inconvenient and very annoying these issues are often rectified quickly.

    Summary

While Firefox 18.0.2 is just another point release and doesn't come with any new features it nevertheless runs fast and is rock stable on both my Windows 7 and Linux operating systems. It runs smooth as silk on Linux Mint 14 KDE, my primary os. I've had no problems whatsoever with this version of Firefox.

"It gets worse as it ages, pity."

    February 11, 2013  |   By Vinny42

    Version: Mozilla Firefox 18.0.2

    Pros

I'm not aware of any in Firefox 18.0.1. It's still on my system but I now use Google Chrome.

    Cons

    Freezing on some web pages.

    Summary

Mozilla Firefox appears to be in 'self destruct' mode.

"Too big for it's own britches !"

    February 6, 2013  |   By desertdan1

    Version: Mozilla Firefox 18.0.2

    Pros

    can't think of any ?

    Cons

Unfortunately no matter how many paragraphs cnet writes tooting Firefox's horn it just doesn't cut it ! Needs twice the memory as the monster Google chrome ??? How is that possible!! I have concluded thet Firefox has went down the same road as Microsoft too big to listen to the users of their products!

    Summary

I switched to Mozilla's project "PaleMoon" works like Firefox should! 1?3 the memory use. and much faster!I will keep trying old fox but not holding my breath!
