Editors' review

Mozilla Firefox's latest incarnation adds an improved social platform to its bevy of creative settings and host of add-ons. The new Social API lets you embed social networks into the browser for easy access, bringing you convenient updates and notifications from Facebook and other networks. If you haven't already tried this browser, there's no better time than now.

Mozilla Firefox prides itself on being on the cutting edge with its many features and high performance. The new release consistently performs near the front of the pack in terms of speed, running in our side-by-side tests neck and neck or slightly faster than strong contenders like Chrome or Opera. As one of the first browsers to support add-ons and extensions, Firefox boasts one of the largest add-on databases on the Web -- most add-ons are already compatible with the new release, increasing its functionality as well as enhancing its essential features like tabs, secure browsing, or sync. The most interesting feature of the new release, Social API, lets you receive notifications, chat, and more by integrating multiple social sites. It doesn't work with all the big social sites yet, but the list of supported networks will grow in time. Mozilla Firefox 27 provides one of the best browsing experiences available, with a sleek interface that gives you plenty of room to browse. While the new release doesn't bring many new features, Social API is a welcome addition, as are the various security fixes and code improvements for developers.

You won't find many better browsers than Mozilla Firefox, and you'll find even fewer that get better as you use them. If you're already in love with one of the major browsers, you might not find enough here to pull you away, but Firefox's latest version is a strong entry in the field.

    Cons

    Rounded rectangles?? Really?

    Summary

I used to like firefox. but when they changed the interface, I really don't like it. By now, I prefer to IE 11. They should not use rounded edges. of the tabs.

"Just as Horrible as Internet Explorer"

    July 13, 2014   |   By Spruill79

    Version: Mozilla Firefox 30.0

    Pros

None at all to be put here

    Cons

Where do I begin this browser was so bad I thought my computer had a virus. It freezes crashes and burns that is all it did. This browser does not deserve the #1 spot. I have Opera and it is the best Browser I have ever had smooth and fast.

    Summary

    Avoid at all costs.

    Abundance of possible addons
Low memory usage with many tabs compared to other browsers
    Monthly updates

Depending on system, may be a tad slow

"Not worth the trouble anymore removed it from my PC"

    June 26, 2014   |   By musicman4you

    Version: Mozilla Firefox 30.0

    Pros

    That it is open sourced

    Cons

To many to mention.Just read the other reviews they already said it.To be honest I wish I could go back to Firefox version 3.6 that I always used.Seems like it started going downhill after 3.6.

    Summary

I can't recommend this to anyone and don't trust Google Chrome on Privacy.I can't recommend the newer stripped down version of Opera anymore but I can tell you that I would and do recommend the Pale Moon browser that is open source just like Firefox with hundreds of features and will use Firefox Add-ons.Pale Moon in my opinion is the best Browser out there out of all of them. With all of these other Browsers going downhill I have been using Pale Moon for over a month and it is awesome. If you are fed up with the other Top browsers like me give Pale Moon a try and download it from there site with a google search.Be sure and download the right version for your computer. They have a 32 bit and 64 bit version plus a Linux version. They are making an Android version also. The other browsers could learn or should learn from Pale Moon.It is awesome.

    "Good bye, so long"

    June 24, 2014   |   By jetgraphics

    Version: Mozilla Firefox 30.0

    Pros

It was once the best browser. But no more.

    Cons

    Where do I begin?
    Facebook - slow - hang -
Play back of videos - locks up or no show
Play back of audio files - sometimes
Keeps eating memory and slows down even more

    Summary

I am forced to go to CHROME, for only it "plays nice."

    "Firefox is going downhill!"

    June 23, 2014   |   By charliejh

    Version: Mozilla Firefox 30.0

    Pros

I like the look of the new Firefox and it has nice extensions and themes.

    Cons

BUT: Every time that I hit enter or click the mouse it takes forever to load. No problem with Chrome or IE11. I have Comcast with 59 mbps download time. AMD A10 with 16 gigs of ram. I hate Chrome but I will have to revert to it.

"I have used Firefox for years and prefer it to IE."

    June 22, 2014   |   By HPJIII

    Version: Mozilla Firefox 30.0

    Pros

    Steady, reliable browser.

    Cons

However, some of the 'new' ways they are updating Firefox are unnecessary and a little bit puzzling.

    Summary

Probably the best browser you can get for free.
