Mozilla Firefox's latest incarnation adds an improved social platform to its bevy of creative settings and host of add-ons. The new Social API lets you embed social networks into the browser for easy access, bringing you convenient updates and notifications from Facebook and other networks. If you haven't already tried this browser, there's no better time than now.

Mozilla Firefox prides itself on being on the cutting edge with its many features and high performance. The new release consistently performs near the front of the pack in terms of speed, running in our side-by-side tests neck and neck or slightly faster than strong contenders like Chrome or Opera. As one of the first browsers to support add-ons and extensions, Firefox boasts one of the largest add-on databases on the Web -- most add-ons are already compatible with the new release, increasing its functionality as well as enhancing its essential features like tabs, secure browsing, or sync. The most interesting feature of the new release, Social API, lets you receive notifications, chat, and more by integrating multiple social sites. It doesn't work with all the big social sites yet, but the list of supported networks will grow in time. Mozilla Firefox 27 provides one of the best browsing experiences available, with a sleek interface that gives you plenty of room to browse. While the new release doesn't bring many new features, Social API is a welcome addition, as are the various security fixes and code improvements for developers.

You won't find many better browsers than Mozilla Firefox, and you'll find even fewer that get better as you use them. If you're already in love with one of the major browsers, you might not find enough here to pull you away, but Firefox's latest version is a strong entry in the field.

"The BEST!!!"

March 18, 2014  |  By vesstovessto

 |  Version: Mozilla Firefox 27.0.1

Pros

I have huge list of what I love in MF but if in few lines these things are:

The extensions and all the useful stuff they can make
Fast, secure and nice layout
No additional and annoying stuff like Discover in Opera
May be set so ask for updates (which pisses me off in Chrome)
May be installed on disk different than C

Cons

None till now.

Summary

As the main article says it is #1 in Web Browsers. Absolutely deserved.

Pros

I've always used firefox and loved it but the new version is a problem

Cons

Only with the latest version

Summary

When I check for compatibility, the computer tells me that FF is not compatible. I have similar issues that some of the other reviewers have but FF will not start after reboot. I'm using Chrome for the time being until Mozilla fixes this version. Can't wait to come back

"Nice interface"

March 04, 2014  |  By nevin_weeks

 |  Version: Mozilla Firefox 27.0.1

Pros

several ad blocking add-ons that do an excellent job of getting rid of the annoying, often noisy and suspicious ads on most websites.
add-ons like NoScript that block all javascript unless you choose to allow it.

Cons

Lets you run web pages with minimal scripts and still retain functionality.

Summary

You can choose to allow ads on sites whose revenues you want to support and trust.

"It works!"

March 04, 2014  |  By Upton14856

 |  Version: Mozilla Firefox 27.0.1

Pros

This browser is easy to use, unpretentious (not expecting everyone to drop everything and use it exclusively), and I have not seen it chroming (piggybacking its way onto everyone's system like malware).

Cons

Have no complaints.

Summary

Smooth, seems to play nicely with most of my websites

"Stability issue with Firefox 27"

February 27, 2014  |  By wyzwyk

 |  Version: Mozilla Firefox 27.0.1

Pros

The massive number of add-on extensions available and ones ability to customize the GUI separate Firefox from its competition. In my opinion, when this browser is tricked out and running smoothly, it has no peers.

Cons

Firefox has had a long history of running fast and stable for me, but unfortunately version 27 is not one of them. I've had serious issues reopening the browser after closing it.

Summary

First I'd like to say I'm a long time user of Firefox and have been generally satisfied with its performance over the years. It's run fast and stable for me on my Linux distribution for the longest time. That is up until now. Unfortunately this version has a serious stability issue on my computer. When I close the browser sometimes it will not allow me to reopen it without first restarting the computer. While it doesn't happen all that often it happens enough to be considered more than just a little inconvenience. No, it's a MAJOR PROBLEM! This shouldn't happen; it didn't on any version prior to v. 27. Is anyone else experiencing this? Two stars is a gift. Get it fixed Mozilla.

Updated on Mar 2, 2014

Correction: I have to apologize for stating the problem I'm having incorrectly. In this review I said that I had issues reopening the browser after closing it. What is happening: When I press the close button the browser disappears, but when I attempt to reopen it I get a window that says:

Close Firefox

Firefox is already running, but is not responding. To open a new window, you must first close the existing Firefox process, or restart your system.

Regardless of how I've described the issue, I still have a problem that requires me to restart my computer to get Firefox working again.
