"Freeze up on firstusage."

February 13, 2014  |  By lueeluee

 |  Version: Mozilla Firefox 27

Pros

Switched to chrome, worked perfectly with no message.

Cons

First time with newly downloaded version and it froze like IE with stupid coded message. Previous version worked so well. Expect a quick update.

Summary

Wait a little longer this is not ready for prime time. How did it ever get out of beta?

"No Problems"

 |  Version: Mozilla Firefox 27

Pros

No Problems

Cons

I have None

Summary

I think it is a keeper, I really like the added layer of security where I have to have a password to access any sites that have a password to access them.

"Some compatibility issues with an important extension."

February 07, 2014  |  By wyzwyk

 |  Version: Mozilla Firefox 27

Pros

The extension add-ons are what make every version of Firefox special. A user can choose from a mountain of extensions to customize the browser just to their liking.

Cons

For the most part Firefox runs fast and stable on my Linux operating system, but this release (v.27) caused some instability issues with an important extension.

Summary

It's not too often I have negative things to say about Firefox, but this particular version their were compatability issues with the stable version of the Tab Mix Plus extension. TMP was showing multiple tabs at times when it shouldn't. It was only a minor problem and not too difficult to rectify, nevertheless annoying. When I downloaded and installed Tab Mix Plus 0.4.1.3pre140204a1 the problem stopped. While it worked I'm not keen on having to use alpha, beta, or rc versions of anything! Sadly this is the kind of issue you periodically run into with Firefox. As I have said on so many occasions, the six week release schedule places unrealistic and often times hard to meet expectations on extension developers to stay current. Why Mozilla updates Firefox so frequently is a question many many users have asked, and one that seemingly falls on deaf ears.

"Three stars because the jury is still out"

February 05, 2014  |  By musicmugger

 |  Version: Mozilla Firefox 27

Pros

None as yet

Cons

I do not see why they cannot just keep it as a browser and concentrate of the security, the speed, and doing something about the freezing as it loads pages, and the perpetual "Ooops! We seem to have lost your page" crashes. Does anyone really care if you can get to a social site, I know I don't, and the way people are deserting FB, I think I'm not the only one.

Summary

This desperation to beat everyone else to the punch has damaged what was a great browser. WAKE UP MOZILLA, it's time you got your act together and made your software work reliably, or you are just going to continue losing subscribers to the competition. I use Safari on a PC, not because I like it, but because it works without crashes, freezing up, and it's secure.
