Firefox 23 expands its social functionality by integrating a share button into the Firefox toolbar.

The new share button lets users post an interesting article to friends and family via profile, private message, or e-mail without having to leave the page. This is already complemented by a slew of recent feature add-ons in Firefox that include the ability to view your feeds, check status updates and activity, and chat with friends directly within the sidebar.

Developers are also given a few new toys to play with, notably the Network Monitor. The Network Monitor, a convenient, historical view of network activity on your site, has received a significant face lift since its original Web Console days.

Mozilla has also enabled Mixed Content blocking by default, which prevents MITM (man-in-the-middle) attacks on secure HTTP pages by giving users more control over whether to allow protection or override the protection. As you browse, users will notice a shield icon that indicates that Mixed Content protection is enabled.

As always, head on over to the Download button to upgrade your Firefox client.

"Firefox 23 the worst yet"

September 09, 2013  |  By b0hemian

 |  Version: Mozilla Firefox 23.0.1

Pros

haven't found one yet!

Cons

Crashes an average of once per hour. Every. Day.

Summary

I don't understand how Firefox is up to 23 already. They update it to a a new version every 4 to 6 weeks. Clearly v23 did not get tested long enough. Version 23.0.1 got released a mere 10 days later to fix glitches. Clearly all were not fixed.

I didn't even notice what version I'm using until 23 came out and I didn't even think about how much it sucked until 23.0.1 came out. Now this one is truly abysmal.

I use the web extensively for my job. Firefox 23.0.1 crashes about 8-10 times daily, often when I have multiple tabs open.

But often it's not even while doing something intensive. Sometimes I'm just reading--not even scrolling!--with only one window open and boom! Kaput. Start her up again and within 15-20 minutes it's light's out again. I've crashed more than 200 times in the last few weeks. It's getting extremely OLD.

"Simply the Best Browser"

September 04, 2013  |  By LuckyPhillTheLegend

 |  Version: Mozilla Firefox 23.0.1

Pros

Ease of use - was using IE which kept crashing, a real pain - Firefox however crashes rarely & I do rarely. Similar enough to IE in general layout so as to avoid a totally new learning curve. I'm still using Windows XP.

Cons

A little memory hungry but far from slow

Summary

I won't be changing browsers again for a very long time - when you're on a good thing, stick to it.

"Slow to open to many redundant features"

September 02, 2013  |  By Johnny_S

 |  Version: Mozilla Firefox 23.0.1

Pros

Its faster once the application loads. Oh, and its still FREE to download

Cons

Problems galore with some sites. Buttons inactive, text in wrong places, on top of other text. Redundancy in over drive

Summary

Why do I need a URL/search bar and a search box again? But yet I lose a forward button? I have not tried Firefox for several months and was hoping for better from Mozilla. I guess not. I am uninstalling again.

Updated on Sep 8, 2013

Not sure why I would want to bother customizing something that used to just work?? Really? You like to have to play around with browser settings just to get it to work? Its no wonder Firefox is losing ground.

"Took good and Broke it"

September 01, 2013  |  By JED34

 |  Version: Mozilla Firefox 23.0.1

Pros

None to Mention

Cons

Won't even load my homepage. I have been a FF user for more than eight years. This new version won't start on my cpu. I have reset it, done a ton of troubleshooting but the best I can do is start in private mode. Private mode doesn't work but it won't give me the not responding message I get every other time.

Summary

Crap. Already looking for another browser and previous versions. Also, why do they update ff so often. there are at least 6 new versions a year since 2010. I may be done with FF
