CNET Editors' review
The final release of Mozilla Firefox offers enough features to make you rethink Internet Explorer. You can easily create toolbars by dragging and dropping icons. Live Bookmarks turn RSS feeds into something that acts like a bookmarks folder. You can type Google search queries right into the address bar or use the built-in search box. The program displays the page source in a new window, using indents and color-coded tags like an HTML editor. You can view your bookmarks or history in the Sidebar area, which lets you quickly revisit your favorite sites. Though the browser hides its advanced settings, you can still build modules using XML, CSS, JavaScript, and even C . The program includes such tools as a JavaScript debugger and a DOM viewer.
At 55MB for 25 windows, the browser uses fewer resources than Internet Explorer but more than Opera. The built-in pop-up blocker works better than Opera's, IE's, and those of most paid standalone utilities. However, the download manager is still underdeveloped. Though the final release version vastly improves stability, we noticed occasional reluctance to maximize in response to Alt Tab commands. People who want more security than IE provides should look at Mozilla Firefox.

"Internet Explorer should feel threatened"
Version: Mozilla Firefox 1.0
Pros
Firefox is a friendly web browser, just like Internet Explorer. It's easy to make the switch from IE (a wizard will guide you through importing your Favorites, etc.). It's more useful, with its customizable toolbars, tabbed browsing feature and extensions which can add so much more to Firefox, you'd be amazed. Also, it really does load pages more quickly and progressively - you can actually SEE the content loading and display in the windows as it is downloaded.
Cons
Well you should use it with care - too many extensions installed may cause unpredictable results - i.e. crashes, a lot of memory usage, high response time using the tabs and menus etc. Other than that, it's great !

"My browser of choice! Highly recomended!"
Version: Mozilla Firefox 1.0
Pros
Less pop-ups, more secure, more customized interface, tabbed browsing, less resource intensive, not tied to already overbloated OS, planty of plugins available to get the expirience you want out of browser. I use ONLY firefox for developing my sites

"This was the easiest and most beneficial software switch I have ever made."
Version: Mozilla Firefox 1.0
Pros
Tabbed browsing allows for easier navigation as well as less usage of system resources.
Built in popup/under control leads to less spyware.
Customizability leads to a more personalized and comfortable browsing experience.
Cons
If was a little tricky getting some of my media plugins configured, but there are several Mozilla forums and message boards that provided all the answers to my questions.

"LOST BOOKMARKS"
Version: Mozilla Firefox 1.0
Pros

Cons
You WILL lose all you bookmarks and browser setup mysteriously. Has happend to me several times.
Now my bookmarks are completely unrecoverable. What a joke!

"Awesome!"
Version: Mozilla Firefox 1.0
Pros
My favorite feature HAS to be the tabbed-browsing feature! I've always been one to have multiple IE windows open and when one crashes, they all crash. Firefox has NEVER crashed on me. Not YET anyway. ;o)
It's easy to import you favorites, settings, etc., too. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Firefox to everyone!
Cons
The ONLY thing I don't like about Firefox is that not all website display correctly. But 99% do.

"Love It !"
Version: Mozilla Firefox 1.0
Pros
I love the whole design of Firefox.Compared to IE, everything seems to load much quicker and there are so many great features available. I've found no problems with downloads, and haven't yet had any problems accessing sites; went to my bank's site, and everything functioned as it should.
Thoroughly recommended.
Cons
Nothing (yet)!

"Best product around, user friendly & pop-up FREE!"
Version: Mozilla Firefox 1.0
Pros
I love everything about this product. This was recommended as a web browser by an employee of Comp USA in Pleasanton, CA. He suggested this browser to us when we explained our problems with pop-ups. This information along with Spysweep my husband and I are able to enjoy the internet once again. Thanks for being userfriendly, easy on the eyes - not busy at all, very simple, POP-UP FREE and partnered with Google which is always a good thing! Try it and you'll never go back to any browser again.......
Cons
None.
