"Our browser of choice. Simple and efficient."

    November 4, 2012  |   By Mid_Man

    Version: Mozilla Firefox (Mac) 16.0.2

    Pros

Stable, simple to use, great tutorials, many add-ins.

    Cons

    There are none.

    Summary

Mozilla Firefox has become our browser of choice for both Windows and Mac. It is stable. The interface is easy to understand and simple to use. The tutorials are concise and provide quick understanding and use of features. Its robust offering of add-ons with their easy installation and updates are a major plus. Very little time is used updating. No time is lost for debugging.

"It's Great When It (Infrequently) Works"

    September 24, 2012  |   By whofukncares

    Version: Mozilla Firefox (Mac) 15.0.1

    Pros

It's a lot more steady to use than the Safari I have on my Mac 10.5:
    - Not a huge memory hog
    - Handles flash more steadily
    - Plug ins are nice

    Cons

It has just decided to act like the DNS in my home is broken. It loads pages very slowly. No rhyme or reason. I've rebooted and trashed stuff and reset my router ... nothing helps. It's taken 45 seconds just to load google.com.

    Summary

    It doesn't work. Shocking.

    "Crashes a lot/is slow"

    September 21, 2012  |   By meanzuga

    Version: Mozilla Firefox (Mac) 15.0.1

    Pros

    Usually works fine

    Cons

but crashes at least once a day or gets frozen A LOT (the spinning beach ball of death). I don't even have that many tabs open. (Maybe 5 max? Usually 3 though. No more than 2 windows)

"Spoilt by a Sync Feature Set that Sucks!"

    August 15, 2012  |   By Bandolier

    Version: Mozilla Firefox (Mac) 14.0.1

    Pros

Plenty - really I love it!

    Cons

    Sync - is a dog!

    Summary

"One of the most important features in the modern Firefox is Sync. Sync smoothly synchronizes your bookmarks, passwords, preferences, history, and tabs, not only with other computers, but also with your Android version of Firefox."

Problem is that Sync does not work / continue to work / tell you that its syncing / provide any degree of user control.

I have tried many times to set up sync between my desktop / laptop / Android phone including completing deleting the sync account several times and can never get it to work reliably. Support questions go unanswered presumably because it has real issues!

Really needs a complete rethink and is probably undergoing one as I write this?

"It's a memory HOG because of Adobe Flash!!!"

    July 24, 2012  |   By snake1953

    Version: Mozilla Firefox (Mac) 14.0.1

    Pros

    There's a lot of them.

    Cons

Freezes up too much because of the integration of Flash. It won't release RAM when a task is done. When it becomes non responsive the only way to clear that away is to force it to crash via Microsoft's Process Explorer. I like version 12.0 because it would use too much of my computers memory. This version and 13.0 just hog up my RAM and won't release it whatsoever.

    Summary

Mozilla, you took 20 steps backwards with your latest versions. I shouldn't have to force it to crash just to make the browser responsive so that I can complete time sensitive online tasks. GIVE ME BACK a more stable version of Firefox!

    "Don't Bother Upgrading"

    July 19, 2012  |   By MacGuffin

    Version: Mozilla Firefox (Mac) 14.0.1

    Pros

    There are no pros.

    Cons

    You're kidding, right?

    Summary

What a mistake! This is without a doubt the worst version of Firefox I've ever used. It slows up to the point that attempting to type is like slogging one's way through molasses and it's not handling video well either. Mind you, perhaps this "will be less of a problem as hardware improves," i.e. my 2.5 year old 3.06 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo MacBook Pro clearly isn't up to the task of running a BROWSER to its best advantage (I mean, come on). In the meantime, Version 14.0.1 is going into the trash and I'm heading back to the previous release. Does CNET actually test drive these things before composing (and inflicting on us) the War and Peace of software reviews??

"Crashes too much compared to previous versions"

    July 10, 2012  |   By snake1953

    Version: Mozilla Firefox (Mac) 13.0.1

    Pros

There are a lot of them.

    Cons

The integration of Adobe Flash Player into the pluging-container. It causes the browser to use too many resources when trying to accomplish time sensitive game playing therefore causing the browser to become unresponsive. The only way to get control back again is to shut down the browser via Microsofts Process Explorer (free download at Microsoft) and then restarting the browser.

    Summary

Mozilla needs to fix the problems they created with this updated version.

    "I've given up on Firefox"

    June 19, 2012  |   By WonderLady

    Version: Mozilla Firefox (Mac) 13.0.1

    Pros

Can't think if any at the moment, I am so discouraged.

    Cons

I liked it a lot for a while, but recently, with the upgrades to 12 and 13 on the Mac, it has crashed a lot, especially with version 13. I had moved over to Firefox because I was having trouble with Google Chrome months ago, but I am fed up with Firefox either crashing or locking up my computer. Not fun.
