"One of its kind!"
Version: Movienizer 3.3 build 163
Pros
Functionality! This program has very good features, nice reports, filters, sorting methods. Didn't see anything like that in other programs that I tried.
Cons
I think it's the best program on my PC, but there is still some room for improvements. For example, I could use a couple more fields in reports (but I've heard that developers are working on this).
Summary
4732 movies in my collection, and growing ;)

"Sneak Ware!!!!"
Version: Movienizer 3.2 build 156
Pros
Was ok for free.
Cons
Terrible way to market a product.
They don't allow you to keep your free version They hack your free version when you add a movie even if you don't update so it doesn't download pictures or info anymore.Summary
Any reviewers that say they were using the free version and don't care about the way we were mislead to update the program as many of us have been doing for months only to find out about this trial scam are working for Movienizer. Even if you don't update the program it will stop downloading pictures and info. It changes the free program on YOUR computer WITHOUT YOUR PERMISSION. I reject this program on principle.
Shame on You Movienizer your software deserves to be CRAKCED!!!!!!!! -
"The Best Movie Database Organizer out there!"
Version: Movienizer 3.3
Pros
1. Can bulk download your list or spreadsheet of movies
2. Can download individual movies
3. Can tailor the information you want downloaded (i.e. billboard, movie stills, etc.)Cons
None I have found
Summary
I have a large collection of DVD's and I was looking for software to catalog my holdings. Movienizer is the only software which allowed me to take my excel spreadsheet of all my holdings and cut and paste them into the "add movie" interface on Movienizer. Once pasted into Movienizer, the program pulled from the internet all the pertinent info on each movie AUTOMATICALLY. I have tried every other piece of software out there and this is the only program which will do these. It downloaded all the necessary information about the movie including the movie billboard. This is a reasonable priced piece of software, which you can try for free. If you have a DVD collection, give this a try!

"Great movie database program"
Version: Movienizer 3.3
Pros
Simply the best :). Tried several others, nothing's even close to this. Thanks for the upgrade!
Cons
Thanks for asking, but I love it.
-
"Simple, easy to use software with lots of movie info."
Version: Movienizer 3.2 build 156
Pros
Program is easy to navigate and has useful options for editing info.
Cons
Recognition of movie titles is just a bit cumbersome, and movie info download times can be lengthy, although that can be a function of your computer or ISP.
Summary
Have used Movienizer for 2 months and have catalogued over 400 movies with no major problems. I especially appreciated the quick response times from their support team.

"Typical "Bait'n'switch""
Version: Movienizer 3.0.1
Pros
What it is meant to do, it does very well.
Cons
Went from $0 to $40 in one shot.
If you "update" the free version, it does not tell you that you're going to break it when you update.Summary
Same dirty game played many times before.
They give out the proggie for free, give people 3 months to a year or so to spend many hours entering their data (collection in this case) then they give it a new ver number and charge big bucks for it.
Now the poor suckers that have the free one eventually click on "check for updates" and see a "New and Improved" version.
Of course they click on it, because nothing tells them the "new" version is gonna cost them an arm and a leg.
And of course it breaks the "free" part of the proggie they spent many hours typing into.
Most of them threw out the old install file.
Now they can cough up 40 bucks, or kiss all that time they invested goodbye.
This is a form of extortion, and imho companies that pull this 'lil trick can kiss both my big round cheeks.
Too bad for them I saw it coming.
If they broke YOUR free version, google movienizer 2.1 or 2.2 to get a replacement.
Make SURE you temporarily move your database fold elsewhere before uninstall/reinstall.
You'll find the folder under application data for your username.
ex:
C:\Documents and Settings\%%YOU%%\Application Data\Movienizer
Move the whole dang folder, uninstall the extortion version, reinstall old version, move folder back where it was.
Good to go free again.
1 star for being another sucker punch freeware lie. -
"Very good movie organizer"
Version: Movienizer 3.0.1
Pros
Easy download of movie info, Lovely GUI
Cons
This is not free. (C-Net editor note) and £30 for a data base is excessive
Summary
Was my first pick when free, but not now
