    "Keeps on Crashing!!!!"

    Worked fine at the beginning of my first project.

    Cons

    I was almost done viewing my finished movie before exporting when the the program crashed. Then it crashed every time I tried to play my video. I was able to export it. Now I can't even edit at all. Crashes every time.

    Summary

    Do not waste your money. The slide show program they have sucks too.
    You might as well do a slide show in power point.

    "Don't Waste Your Money"

    Pros

    Mediocre product with few useful features.

    Cons

    Interface is non-intuitive. Program does not function correctly. Customer support is nonresponsive. Help file is not helpful. Demos on the website are incomplete. Company does not have the decency to process a refund.

    Summary

    I spent a week trying to use this product and exchanging emails with their customer support person. It takes a day or longer to get a reply to a question, and the answers are never complete, so trying to solve even one problem drags on and on. Some questions were never resolved. When I asked for a refund they stopped responding to my emails. The product is useless. This company deserves to be driven out of business.

    "Movavi Appears to Be Deep Trouble"

    Pros

    Fair package with some good features. The Flash Converter is good and they no longer sell it with the suite. That was the really good part about the suite. The rest, you can get elsewhere with less grief and for less.

    Cons

    TERRIBLE SUPPORT: A chat line that is never active and email that is never responded to. Blackmail licensing scheme. If you reinstall it when upgrading your PC, you pay a small fortune for their "family" plan or it doesn't activate.

    Summary

    I've used it since Version 7, but I'm pulling it off my PC. When a company is dying, the bean counters and lawyers step in and used the fine print to screw people for extra bucks. That's what is happening now. There are a lot of great video apps out there and Movavi was great in its time, but they obviously could not compete. They've gutted their support services and the company is using draconian licensing to squeeze existing users.

    "Not many great features."

    The good features are all in the pro paid version.

    Cons

    Not much you can get with the free trial. It's an ok video converter, but there are many free better ones.

    Not worth paying for.

    "OK Product - Sleazy Marketing Approach"

    I bought the version 8 suite of tools. It was a bit clunky, and the results weren't that great, but it had several nice features.

    Summary

    I purchased the previous version of this software and found it very useful for some things, but it didn't yield spectacular results, crashed, stalled, and was generally pretty slow under even the best conditions. When I recently received an e-mail advertisement for a "Veterans Day Special" for a "Turbo" add-on (that claimed to speed conversions up by up to 400%) I went ahead and spent the $10 for it. After downloading it, going through the verification procedure that I'd paid, and attempting to install it I found that it only works for their newest version.

    Yes, I went back to the ad and found that info buried in the (literally) fine print. But not to worry! I sent Movavi an e-mail about this, they forwarded to Avangate (their US distributor) and Avangate sent me a "generous" offer: If I only pay another $50, I can get the new version (at a $10 savings ... wow!!) of the software and it will work.

    No thanks! I'll keep my money and look elsewhere.

    The shame of this is that the Movavi product that I originally bought was pretty good software and I probably would have remained a regular customer had they been more honest and forthcoming with their ads. But, as things now are ... several unsatisfactory e-mails later ... this is one American military vet who isn't going to let either of these companies shaft me again with a "Veterans Day special".

    "Do NOT Get This Product"

    They are rip off artists and con artist. The steal your money by throwing in an "insurance fee" bringing up the price to more than $49. Every time you try to use the editing software, it CONSISTENTLY crashes.

    Summary

    These people are a scam. i don't know if the CNET reviewer was brought off or what but this "video editing software" is a sham. First, when I brought it, the promised charge was 39.99. They throw in an extra $6 and it comes up to $50.

    Second, the technical aspect of it is just horrible. When you convert anything to HD or to any other file type, it does not work, even if the original was HD. The film will come out grainy, distorted, and scenes WILL be missing. Oh, and please don't use their text function. Not only will it come out distorted with text missing if you are uploading to something like youtube or playing it back on windows (or even Quicktime), IT WILL CAUSE YOUR COMPUTER TO CRASH ON THE SECOND, EVERY SECOND. Oh, and please let me not forget that, when you are exporting the video, it takes FOREVER, approx 3 hours, even if the clip is a second long (I am not joking nor am I making this up. I wish I could)

    As for customer service, LOL, forget it! I first called Avangate to address the issue considering that it said to call their number if you have any order or payment issues. I did, and they said to contact Movavi even for payment issues. Now, this is what I call false advertising, getting the run around etc. As you will see, when I asked them - nicely - to fix the problem, they refuse. They tell me to send them "screenshots" of the issue (since when do you need screenshots to fix an issue?) and they say that the insurance was "automatic" then say it was "optional." They were telling me all of this even though I was NOT asking for a refund. If you need proof, just take a look at the email they sent me (Along with the email I sent them):

    Do not mess with these little fly-by-night software companies who will take your money and run! There is a reason why Movavi is cheap; thy aren't even worth the low price they are offering! Deal with the big, proven companies like Microsoft, Correl and Adobe where the price may be a little steep, but you will get what it is worth with no glitches, problems and REAL customer service that will truly have your back!

    As for Movavi, I will be calling my bank first thing in the morning to dispute the charge!
