    Version: Morpheus 5.1.2

    "Morpheus keeps getting better!"

by goldengreeke on March 12, 2006

Pros: I like this version of Morpheus. It has made many improvements since I tried it last year. In fact, I like it so much that I purchased Morpheus Ultra. I'm not going to tell you that it is better than Ares, or Bearshares, or LimeWire, because every person has their own favorite. What I will tell is that it doesn't hurt to have more than one p2p application on your pc, and if you have half a GB of memory or more, you can run two or three p2p apps at the same time, if you want to. Morpheus found stuff,(music, movies, software, etc,) that my other p2p applications couldn't find. That's because it connects to more networks than the others do and that is why I am recommending Morpheus and giving it a rate of 5 stars and two thumbs up!

    Version: Morpheus 5.2

"Morpheus gets faster with every version!"

by goldengreeke on May 14, 2006

Pros: This newest version, Morpheus 5.2, is the fastest yet. I like the oldies from the 1950s and wanted some Buddy Holly tunes. I typed "Buddy Holly" in the search field and had over 100 search results in less than two seconds! I selected 14 songs I wanted, which took about one minute. By the time I was done checking off the 14th song the first 10 were already downloaded to my music files. Now that is FAST! 10 songs downloaded in one minute. Don't just take my word, try it yourelf. Morpheus also will find you games, software programs, full movies, and videos. You will get more results with Morpheus.

Cons: When downloading software...Never download a file size smaller than 1 MB, it will be a virus.( 851.7 KB is an example of a virus file) Also, free version has ads to support it. I have Morpheus Ultra, which has no ads.

"There are much better p2p clients than Morpheus"

by goldengreeke on December 25, 2005

    Pros: Fast search results

Cons: I have tried them all, and I have downloaded over 3,000 tunes, software and videos,(3 GB). I feel Limewire gets the fastest downloads, followed by BearShare, Arachnid, and Ares. That's only my opinon, but I use 3 different computers for my tests.

"The File Description Is Totally False"

by framplot on May 13, 2006

Cons: The last line of the File Description states: "Morpheus is free and contains absolutely no spyware or third-party bundled software." If you chose to download this file, and then "run" it, you get a dialogue box giving you two options: "Free - " Download and install Free ad supported version of Morpheus or $19.95 USD ad free Morpheus Ultra with no bundled software, pop-ups or banners (and six months free updates.) " That tells me that if you go for the free option you WILL get bundled software etc !!! Also take note - the file size is NOT 185 K - once that is on your hard drive you then have to download a further file to install the actual program. And if you take your time making a choice as to which version you want - as I did to write this comment, it goes ahead and starts the download anyway !! If you want a P2P programme, I suggest you leave this well alone - there are enough reports on the internet confirming that this programme is full of bundled software, spyware, adware and the like. Go for Limewire instead which definitely doesn't have any added software and which works extremely well.

"GOOD or BAD? This is ALL you'll need to know!"

by Vardanai on January 11, 2007

Pros: Ok, lets start off with the good things about Morpheus P2P. Morpheus has a lot of results coming up. Morpheus can connect up to 11 G1 hosts and 2 G2 hosts (From what I've experienced). Morpheus connects to G1, G2, and Neo network. Morpheus has its own built in media player which can play audio, video, and images. Morpheus has a customizable playlist. I can say that Morpheus has a real good interface. Morpheus also has it's own internet browser which is inside the program and it connects to any website you type down. When you download a file unlike Limewire which connects up to 11 hosts max, Morpheus connects up to 55 hosts which results into a way faster speed than Limewire. There are preferences you can configure and when you download Morpheus remember to go to the settings and enable Morpheus to connect to G2. Morpheus has a built in Chat rooms which lets you select the chat room that you think is best for you and chat with other hosts. Although most programs already enabled this feature but, Morpheus lets you drag files into a desired folder and save it there for future burning times. you can always press search more when the searching process is done to look for some more files in the networks. You can also always press Get more hosts to backup your file download with more hosts. Morpheus also lets you cancel uploads which leads to faster downloading speeds. Unlike Limewire, when using Morpheus' own media player you can fast-forward the songs.

Cons: Now, the bad parts. When I mentioned earlier on in the pros that Morpheus connects to a lot of hosts. Well, Morpheus sometimes connects to a lot of hosts not all the time. Especially G2 you will only see Morpheus connect to one G2 host only rarely would be connecting to more than one G2 host. Some files you download (This happens to a lot of popular, common, and desperately wanted files.) will give you a message telling you that "You've attempted to download a unauthorized copy of this file, Morpheus will now take you to the page in which the material will interest you (and it'll open your default browser). I didn't believe it at first but, when I was searching for some files on the bottom ads a naked girl showed up but this only happened once. It said somethingmate.com. Morpheus has two sides of ads; one is on the right side vertical about 5 inches on a 17" screen maximized. The other is on the bottom horizontal about 6" on a 17" screen Maximized. Morpheus probably has some infections that come with it, But, I can tell you that you won't even notice it because it doesn't even harm your computer. When you go to Morpheus.com it'll tell you that it has no infections. But, when it says that it is talking about the "Morpheus Ultra". The speed averagely is like the same as Limewire. When a message comes up saying agree on the toolbar press cancel or no. So, now the big question here is LIMEWIRE or MORPHEUS!? Thank You for reading.
