"Well done"
Summary
This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
Disclaimer: I was a beta tester for MoneyWell. I am also a registered user of Debt Quencher, No Thirst's other app.
The main feature that drew me to MoneyWell is the 1-window interface and visual indicators. All of the everyday procedures are right there in one window. There are no separate windows needed to enter or view data, for me, removing a bit of the possible confusion factor I've had with other accounting apps trying to make sure I select the correct window. Yes, there are a couple of drawer windows for a couple of items for planning and moneyflow, but those aren't used for everyday data entry or viewing.
The visual budget graph right there, all the time, I feel is the most brilliant feature, with the bucket indicators a close second.
For a 1.0 release, this is a super beginning. Looking forward to more features being added. Which brings up a good point, if you've ever used software that you wish had feature X, using a 1.0 release usually means the feature(s) you'd like may not be there, yet. It's a lot easier to add features when software is new than to long established apps set in stone. Using MoneyWell and submitting feature requests and suggestions may possibly get you exactly what you're looking for.
