"MoboGenie is malware of the worst sort"

    May 4, 2014  |   By persistentones

    Version: Mobogenie 2.2.5

    Pros

MoboGenie will successfully connect a Samsung S3 Note clone to a Windows XP computer and allows downloading of music and photos as well as installation of programs from Google Play via the computer's Internet connection.

    Cons

MoboGenie is stone cold malware. You can tell a malware program because it does not come with any way to uninstall it and it resists your attempts to uninstall it at every turn. You cannot simply delete the files, because it won't let you. So, you have to search the Internet for special tools designed especially to remove this particular MoboGenie bloatware malware virus-laden product.

You had better KNOW WITH CERTAINTY that you want this program forever before you install it. Because the uninstall process will make you want to format your computer instead.

MoboGenie comes with a boatload of unnecessary programs that automatically start when your computer starts and that slow down booting, slow down the computer and slow down the Internet connection. There are countless unnecessary programs and files that download with this program. It is impossible to remove MoboGenie from the start menu without removing the whole stinking program and all of its dozens of subsidiaries.

    Summary

Think long and hard before you install this program because it is like getting a tattoo: It is very, very, very hard to remove.

"Best portal if you have half a brain and use it right."

    April 6, 2014  |   By Alice901

    Version: Mobogenie 2.2.3

    Pros

Mobogenie is by far the best portal for android if you are not dumb. How do you think they provide a portal for free? Anyone who can root, look at (not even know how to edit) a command line should be able use the portal for what it can do.

Take for instance the LG Optimus Zone which retails for around 40 USD. Good phone, but good luck getting to use it without at least activated-unless you know how to force open the android browser, get mobogenie which force opens the settings to allow it to install, and then is installed and the apk is viewable every reboot and you can enter your mobogenie view the apk and it will "reinstall" but then you have access to everything. It will give you every tool you need or it can let you play dumb games and bloat your phone with malware if you install it all like an idiot. If you have 10 extra bucks, just get an Ariel II; you can use it straight out of the box without problems to get all your favorite apps on it.

    Cons

The portal will not protect idiots who have no idea how to avoid signing their life away to malware and blaming their idiotic click click -crap!- mentality on mobogenie.

    Summary

Get a brain, get flux, get tux, get back to your 'roots' and seriously: get a grip.

    January 17, 2014  |   By Exactly_Junk

    Version: Mobogenie 2.1.37

    Pros

Sorry, there are no pros when it downloaded itself to my poor lil ol Nook Color and locked it up.

    Cons

Is malware designed to download itself to Android phones, but somehow it got my Nook. Which was stock with no apps. I only used it to read web pages, but now it's locked up with this app.

    Summary

"Problems rest with the site you use pal"

    October 17, 2013  |   By tekni

    Version: Mobogenie 2.1.7

    Pros

Nothing amiss when I downloaded Mobogenie. I highlighted it and ran a spyware check on it and it was OK.

    Cons

The download site I used had an extensive list of unwanted stuff I had to 'Un-tick' before I could get the Mobogenie software to clean download. I don't give reviews until I have thoroughly tried the product but it seems fine to me so far.

    Summary

You must be very careful when downloading from sites other than the company you want, and Un-tick things you don't want. You MUST read the 'web address' and be careful if you want to avoid this sort of thing.. This especially applies to most free stuff out there.
