"THIS IS SO EASY AND AFFORDABLE."
Version: Mixcraft 6.0b185
Pros
Everything is easy.
Many youtube help vids.Cons
None other than beta updates as they update.
Summary
You will not be disappointed for 75$ i have the midgrade version.
It does work on my 64 bit windows 7 system with no probs , make sure you have at least 2 gigs of ram. I use this with toontrack easy drummer and a line 6 ux1 guitar interface. It all works great together. I have 8 gigs of ram , i think most haveing probs with the 64 bit are either not installing the 32 and 64 both or they do not have enough ram. -
"Very good +, all-round, user-friendly, not expensive."
Version: Mixcraft 6.1 build 201
Pros
This is a quick-glance, short-time user's impression: very good, nice, comprehensive, intuitive, recommended.
Some users report they couldn't install it on Windows 64-bit, while I had no troubles on my Windows 7 64-bit OS. An excellent support team with quick and specific answers.Cons
Surely it would be better to produce Mixcraft 64-bit version to fully take advantage of hardware&software(compatible)capacities. May be this is one of the causes of some infrequent bugs I encountered like message 'new hardware detected' keeps showing with no actual changes of hardware, a few freezings/hangings, some issues with too much CPU usage and compatibility with my Komplete Audio 6 sound card. GUI is good but with some lack of design concept, not on the same level in all aspects, a bit too colourful.
Summary
Slogan 'Software should be easy to use.' is an excellent meaningful guiding principle, which can make a decisive difference and even advantage over competition. Acoustica team should follow it also in the future and the (bright) future they will have.

"Doesn't work for me using Win-64."
Version: Mixcraft 6.0b190
Pros
I have no pros to leave as it just doesn't work.
Cons
I've used previous versions of MC, with no problems at all. This one crashes while attempting to load loops, and sometimes, even at start-up. I did send the IT guys my error logs, and hopefully, they'll see something and give me a work-around. Also crashes when recording a loaded track, and trying to play a new keyboard track. Good thing I only got the 60 day license.
Summary
Buggy on my HP G62 64-bit Win-7 system. I really want this to work.

"Excellent!"
Version: Mixcraft 5.2 build 152
Pros
Very affordable, fully functional complete audio workstation for real musicians.
Cons
Of course this is not a video editing program, but it can be used to edit videos to certain extent. So not much of a con.
Summary
Great, I'd recommend this to real musicians, or fake ones who're trying to find ways to become real. (Wink, wink, people like me).

"Excellent starter to Intermediate Kit"
Version: Mixcraft 5.2 build 152
Pros
- Solid and bug free.
- Includes features found in more expensive s/w packages.
- Very easy to setup.
- Ability to add video to songs.
- Does not require ASIO which I have found problematic.Cons
- Limited video editing capabilities (just overlap).
- Limited able to edit library or imported sounds.
- Limited sound library.Summary
Excellent value. The creators have really done there homework. I have evaluated most of the key similar products including AVID, REASON, SONAR, Magix Music Maker (very unstable) and this product provides by far the best value. If you have a musical ear and some creativity this will help make you realize your talents.

"More features than more expensive software"
Version: Mixcraft 5.2 build 150
Pros
Offers numeorus and sometimes unlimited features for recording, music producing direct keyboarding, guitar playing, electronic wind instrument, and even more.
Cons
I had this software for more than a month and found no cons.
I tried more than 25 well known, expensive and complicated soft synths and Daws and none offered more than MixCfrat.Summary
No other software, including the free REAPER, and KONTAKT 4 offers such ease of operation, and seemingly unlimited amount of features, and not to mention the low price. Most comparable programs are running around the 299.00 range. Kudos to Acoustica Try for free and you'll see what I mean.

"Doesn't install on 64-bit Windows"
Version: Mixcraft 5.2 build 150
Pros
Looks good on paper and seems to have the features I want.
Cons
I could not install, because it is 32-bit software.
Summary
I hope by posting this, someone can prove me wrong, so I can get this software installed. I could not install on 64-bit Windows, because of an error that says 32-bit software cannot be installed on 64-bit Vista.
This is my reply to spartain. It is not utter nonsense. Nowhere did a say that it would not run on 32-bit Windows. I just stated that I could not get it installed, which is a fact. I was asking for help, and you provided none at all.

Summary
Anyone that sees my other reviews will know that I am very demanding for perfection and hard to pleae when it comes to software, but this is one that succeeds.
This type of software is known as a DAW (Digital Audio Workstation). It is effectively a recording studio on your computer. I went through a period of downloading and trialling lots of different ones written for Windows and found them to be very difficult to figure out, ie. they had a very steep learning curve'. Then, in my internet search, I came across this Mixcraft 5.2, and my search ended. I found it really easy to figure out, because it is designed to be simply logical. It even carries on working after the trial deadline expires, although final mix-down is then disabled, but it still permits continued use, thereby giving you more time to learn how to use it before making your purchase. It comes with plenty of plug-in effects and virtual instruments, including orchestral. If you want further plug-ins you can download and load them into the program. What is also very exceptional about this software is that it includes a notation feature, which allows you to write melodies, bass runs, etc. for virtual instruments. The user forum (reachable through their website) is constantly manned by their staff and regular users, so advice is always at hand within 24 hours.
I've not tried the video editing feature, so can't comment on it. Even at the price asked it is spectacular value for money compared to the rest of the market.
If you want to sing you will need a microphone, and very likely an interface that will allow it and instruments such as a guitar to be connected to your computer. All such information will be enthusiastically supplied through the forum.
Finally, beware of many that sneer at this product. There is a breed of DAW users that dislikes this program for its simplicity, who will constantly recomment something costing many times more. Ignore them. I can assure you that once you get into this you won't want to bother with the expensive alternatives, because Mixcraft makes the whole recording process so easy. -
