"Horrible program, full of programs that clog up cpu"
Version: MixMeister BPM Analyzer 1.0
Pros
It worked on a few songs out of the 100 that I tried it on.
Cons
This program (and CNet) install Bing nad Whitesmoke and generally clog up your computer. It is horrible and it has taken hours of my life to get my computer back to running normal. I hate it when programs try and do this kind of stuff. Definitely not worth it for a program that does a horrible job of BPM detection.
Summary
Don't download this.

"Does what it says"
Version: MixMeister BPM Analyzer 1.0
Pros
Quickly counts bpm on entire library
Cons
Doesn't allow sorting by mp3 tags
Summary
Great tool for making running playlists.

"Underrated program"
Version: MixMeister BPM Analyzer 1.0
Pros
Simple to use, free, the only BPM analyzer I found with any kind of accuracy.
Cons
Be aware of 1/2 beats and double beats.
Summary
Cross-checked results produced by this with other sources and found to be amazingly accurate.
Just be aware 1/2 beats in songs may double the BPM result and double beats may halve it.
No other programs came close. -
"Disappointment"
Version: MixMeister BPM Analyzer 1.0
Pros
Easy to use
Cons
Doesn't work. Of the over 500 music files I needed the bpm for, it analyzed only 151. The files it wouldn't do are all MPEG4 audio files. It also wouldn't let me drag and drop files into it as it claims it will. When I try, it flashes a small white message window so fast that it's impossible to read what it says then goes back to the black screen of the software. I tried to get help on the mixmeister site but there isn't any available for this piece of software. There is a button on their site that says "community" so I thought I might be able to talk to someone there but the link didn't take me to a community.
Summary
Was impressed with the idea of this and loved that it was free, but it turned out to be of no use at all.

"Don't expect reliable results"
Version: MixMeister BPM Analyzer 1.0
Pros
Easy to use.
Cons
Used with a ballroom dance CD. Rumbas, the slowest ballroom dance, had higher BPMs than many of the other dance songs?! This software is completely worthless for my use.
Summary
What good is easy to use when the results don't approach acceptable?

"Inaccurate"
Version: MixMeister BPM Analyzer 1.0
Pros
Fairly easy to use; free
Cons
Crashes on large numbers of songs, frequently inflated bpm results
Summary
Errors made it useless for grouping songs of similar bpm.
-
"Did it's Job!"

Pros
Exactly did what it was suppose to do
Cons
make sure to hit that rescan button after the initial load is analyzed, didnt figure that out initially
Summary
Good

"Easy, but inaccurate"
Version: MixMeister BPM Analyzer 1.0
Pros
Simple to use, no manual BPM input--re-writes tags with this info.
Cons
Found many, many errors where the "beat count" was WAY off. Did not help me categorize upbeat songs for workout mix. I still have to manually play them and check each one. Too many errors---probably more than half the files it scanned.

"easy to use and does what it says."
Version: MixMeister BPM Analyzer 1.0
Pros
Only have to upload files and software does the rest. Simple and easy!
Cons
Took me a bit of reading to work out that it writes the bpm to the file automatically.
Summary
Excellent.

"Great program! Does what I want it to, nothing else."
Version: MixMeister BPM Analyzer 1.0
Pros
Easy to use, simple, gets the job done.
Cons
It would be nice if the program had a quick way to change the window settings to show the bpm column, but that's not hard to do on your own.
Summary
I downloaded this program so I could sort my music collection by bpm for my workouts. It tagged all the files so I could sort them on Windows. All I had to do was set the window to show "beats per minute" as one of the columns. Now I don't have to search for the "right" speed song to walk/run to. Very cool!
