"It does the job, and keeps my Palm device running!"

December 02, 2009  |  By DrRalph

 |  Version: The Missing Sync for Palm OS 6.0.6

Pros

More features than the old Apple sync conduit make it a better product.

Cons

It still gasses me to have to pay $40 for the ability to sync my Palm. But it is cheaper than switching to an iPod Touch.

Summary

High price, but a quality product that does the job.

"quick and accurate"

October 20, 2009  |  By SWCFM

 |  Version: The Missing Sync for Palm OS 6.0.5

Pros

Quickly installed. Easy to use. Was the only thing I found to do the job after changing to Leopard with a new iMac

Cons

So far, haven't found any negative aspects.

"Cannot rate since I couldn't use the product."

October 08, 2009  |  By Mary Marshburn

 |  Version: The Missing Sync for Palm OS 6.0.5

Pros

Can't judge.

Cons

Can't judge.

Summary

My setup is problematic--I need to sync a Palm Centro with an iMac in an organization that uses an outdated version of MS Exchange for e-mail and scheduling. Missing Sync is the best product I've used so far to keep things in sync, but even so, there are a few glitches with version 6.0.4; 6.0.5 crashed repeatedly, so I reinstalled the previous version.

"Great but to bad to be necessary"

November 01, 2008  |  By lars.egger

 |  Version: The Missing Sync for Palm OS 6.0.4

Summary

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
After updating from Entourage 2004 to 2008, I have decided to change to Apple's software solutions. Syncing my Palm TX with MS Office or iCal and address-book was an impossible mission! Thanks to Missing Sync it's an easy task now. The good news is, that Mark developed a solution for Palm syncing with Apple's dream-machines, the sad side is, that Apple still is missing profound Palm-Support.

Thanks Mark

My Tungsten T2 would not sync with iCal. I sent an email detailing the situation to MarkSpace; I received a reply the next day. The process they recommended resolved the issue.

"Stay away from this product v6.0.1"

September 18, 2007  |  By larouche_s

 |  Version: Missing Sync for Palm OS 6.0.1b4

Summary

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
This application is a nightmare: My worst experience for the past 15 years using a software.

  • -Lost my money,
  • -Scrapped my Palm database (contact DB was damanged) and needed to hard reset,
  • -Multiplicity of same contacts (scrapped my address book in the MAC),
  • -iTunes sync does not work,
  • -iPhoto synch crash and kick you out of the application,
  • -Events sync run endlessly (waited 3 hours and I had only 3 events),
  • -No proper date format recognition, so events are not sync properly,
...lucky me, i had a backup of iCal and Address book before Missing Sync scrapped everything. Now i use iSync and HotSync instead. I just can't figure out how to make HotSync work with WiFi. Stay away from this product, unless you don't care loosing your data, money and lots of time.

"Missing Sync is the right name"

 |  Version: Missing Sync for Palm OS 6.0.1b4

Summary

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
I've owned this product since early June. The latest beta is the latest horror. I use my Palm TX daily and need to synch to safeguard my data. BUT, I cannot remember the last time that my calendar or my contact list synched successfully. The support system includes tech support, which akes up to a week to respond, and an active forum of users. The reason that it's acive is that the problems far outweigh the successes.

Sadly, there is no alternative to synch with the Palm. Apple didn't care about this when they developed their OS, leaving a minimally operational, minimally functional solution.

"Hopelessly bad update"

August 02, 2007  |  By pdwr

 |  Version: Missing Sync for Palm OS 6.0.1b4

Summary

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
This upgrade of Missing Sync is absolutely hopeless. There ought ot be a refund for everyone who has bought this version or upgrade. My business ahs lost so much time and money from failed syncing and loss of time that I can't even begin to calculate. I've been using Missing Sync since version 3 with various handlhelds, now a Treo 650. There always seemed to have been glitches in their new releases but this update to version 6 is the worst imagineable. And it seems unsalvagable.
Glacial rate of sync (one took 8 hours - that's right, 8 hours!!!); it has perpetual sync failures and having to redo, redo, redo with hours of time taken with each sync attempt.
Contacting Mark/Space support always looks good on the surface but their 'help' never actually gets the app working. Ever. And now they blame Apple's Sync Services for the problems! Come on guys - get your act together and maybe you'll retrieve some customers. If not, there's a wide opening for a competitor product here.
I think it's worth going back to Palm Desktop and using that, even with its limitations.

"Not quite yet"

July 10, 2007  |  By johnf8

 |  Version: Missing Sync for Palm OS 6.0

Summary

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
The interface is a bit prettier. If you haven't a Treo, there's little reason to upgrade to version 6.

As with others, I've had considerable difficulty synchronizing contacts and calendar events with version 6. Changing a contact in Address Book can yield bizarre sync errors when you try to get it to your Palm (TX in my case); the same is true for new events. In contrast, version 5.1.2 worked well for me.

Wait for a bit if you need something like this and can't get 5.1.2 anymore.
