"Windows XP"
Version: Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition 5.1 (Build 2600: Service Pack 3)
Pros
Easy to use
Cons
Slow
Not compatible for DX10 and higher
Fisher price interface
Crashes too much because of drivers
Shows BSOD's for no reason
No IE9
Bad 64-bit support
InsecureSummary
Windows XP is not a good OS, because it keeps crashing for no reason and it's so ******* slow, even if you have 1-2GB of memory. If you have XP, I recommend that you upgrade to Vista SP1+ or 7 now.

"Very, very good Windows program"
Version: Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition 5.1 (Build 2600: Service Pack 3)
Pros
Easy to deal with problems, easy to navigate. Holds lots of space. Tells when there is a problem and fixes it easily. Fast 85% of the time. Good household computer, tells when a program may harm your computer, and asks if you would like to run it.
Cons
Lags sometimes (ANNOYING), can be slow 35% of the time. When multiple tabs & windows are running at the same time, all the programs immediately become 'unresponsive'. When programs become 'unresponsive', pain in the neck to shut the program down.
Summary
Overall, I have had this computer ALL MY LIFE, and it still works like brand new. This computer is an 'old but trusted friend', and if you want to pick out a new program, go with this. You won't regret it! :)

"still works if you buy upgrade pkg off of ebay"
Version: Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition 5.1 (Build 2600: Service Pack 3)
Pros
if your Microsoft ME operating system won't work anymore, buy a upgrade package off ebay that converts your o/s to XP home. Yes, it works OK and allows you to keep your current computer a few more years.. as Microsoft will support XP thru 2013+
Cons
no choice but to convert to xp from ME. XP home works just fine and all my old software works great on it. No support for ME which worked great for me for 10 years. Time to move up to XP to keep software current.
Summary
XP will probably go down as Microsoft's best operating system ever. After service pack 2 and 3, they finally got it working! Why reinvent the wheel? I'm happy and set for at least 2 or 3 years thanks to a $50 upgrade pkg purchased off ebay
