"Works fine"
Version: Microsoft Virtual PC 7.0.3
Summary
This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
I installed the 7.0.3 update with no problems at all. Only required a minute or two to install the upgrade.
I've used Virtual PC off and on for a few years to run Visio. I've used it on a G4, but for the past few years I use it on my G5.
Visio's a pretty heavy duty program and I've never had a problem running it with Virtual PC. Sure it's a little slow, but not enough to frustrate the average person. It takes 12 seconds for me to start Virtual PC (I timed it today). Thats much faster than I could boot a PC. It starts this fast because you can save the state of your "PC" when you shut-down and avoid the boot process.
I have a Macbook now (Dual Core) and could use bootcamp on it, but why take up the space on the HD for just one application when Virtual PC works fine on the G5.

"VFPC-Very Flacky PC"
Version: Microsoft Virtual PC 7.0.3
Summary
This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
Have an iMac PC G5 with 2.1GHz and 1.5GB RAM. Bought and installed VPC-7 with Windoze XP. Took 4hours to install. No problem installing VPC. Problem was with XP. Once installed I had to download 78 UPDATES! Next. Installed a 30 trial of Kasparsky Virus Protection. That took 3 hours from Install button was clicked on and finally got it working. Please note: I followed the recommended ways to increase the VPC performance, like running in Classic mode etc. All I have been doing is clicking and waiting. It took 3 minutes after clicking on FireFox before it launched. I use the small "windowed" mode. It's tough using this because there is no real communication going on between the me and the VPC. When you click on something to activate it, it should give you an hour glass. Well, mine will come and go. Finally analysis: This is a very flaky. BUT, it does work if you are willing to be more patient. For me, I'm losing my marbles. -
