"great security program"
Version: Microsoft Security Essentials 2.1.1116.0
Pros
works well and best of all it is free
Cons
There is a program that can hi-jack, and has done so about three times on my son's computer. But the fix is easy just restore to early day and then run a scan with security essential and all is good again. I do wish they could/would fix the hi-jacking thought.
Summary
I would and do recommend this program to most I know, based on how well is works.

"So far, so good ..."
Version: Microsoft Security Essentials 2.1.1116.0
Pros
I haven't used my pc very much since I downloaded it, but I think it's going to be fine. When I downloaded it, I didn't find any problems and after a full scan I didn't find anything either. I'm hoping that's a good sign.
Cons
It takes so long to do a full scan and I don't think I have an over abundant amount of information on my laptop yet.
Summary
You always get what you pay for, so we'll just have to wait and see how well it stands up to Microsoft's reputation.

"~ For Free, There Is Nothing Better =)"
Version: Microsoft Security Essentials 2.1.1116.0
Pros
* Fast Install.
* Clean Fast Interface / Well Organized.
* Great Virus Engine.
* NO ADS (find that elsewhere)
* Does not slow you down.Cons
* Basic Protection (but it's free!)
Summary
Now, I am a Norton fan but I know most people now do not like buying security subscriptions and why should they?
When you want something free, you don't want ad's driving you crazy about buying something better do you? And, you don't want the program to be ad supported meaning they advertise other vendor's products right on your security app. It really does not make you feel that safe! Well, with MSE you get everything you would normally pay for without all that ad crap.
I recommend this over AVG, AVAST, Panda and Avira to anyone who comes to me wanting advice on protecting what's theirs.
If you have never tried MSE, it is a fast download just make sure you have no other security software installed. I think you will like it a lot. -

"Found and removed what AVG didn't"
Version: Microsoft Security Essentials 2.1.1116.0
Pros
A lot less of a bother than AVG
Free, but worksCons
Really DOES slow down computer when used with other antivirus programs. (I just got rid of AVG since it wasn't working anyway!)
Summary
On the brief weekly scans, MSE has found things that AVG never did. It also found a Trojan virus and removed it - which AVG didn't seem to see either.

"I love it. Works like a dream"

Pros

Cons
Its a little hard to allow programs and hardware to access your PC sometimes. I think MS needs to work on this.
Summary

"Rock Stable and No problems at all"
Version: Microsoft Security Essentials 2.1.1116.0
Pros
Found a number of trojans or suspicious files which give you the option of deleting or quarantining.
Cons
Updating is not as fast as i like but on the whole it is really ok.
Summary
Obviously paid software competitors are gonna post bad comments about this program made available freely to genuine purchasers of windows!
I used 5 other anti-virus and spywares and found Microsoft Security essentials to be as good if not faster and no conflicts at all on all my office pcs.
