"Amazing!!!"
Version: Microsoft Security Essentials 1.0.1611.0
Pros
Everything is great about this anti-virus program. Runs right in the background of my computer with out bothering me. It doesn't consume many resources. And great detection.
Cons
Nothing I have found.
Summary
It took about 3 hours and 30 minutes to do the full scan of my computer, but it was worth it. It found a trojan on my system that was downloading programs on it own. As soon as it was done scanning my entire system it asked me what my I want my action to be, and I click clean computer. It didn't take long for it to remove the virus from my computer. Before I had AVG free anti-virus version 8.5. Even with a full system scan AVG didn't detect the trojan. Great work Microsoft! I'm extremely happy with this program!

"This is true perfection."
Version: Microsoft Security Essentials 1.0.1611.0
Pros
The new Microsoft Security Essentials is very light weight on system resources, the detection rate is perfect and it doesn't give any false positives when scanning. This virus scanner blows AVG, AVAST, COMODO, AVIRA, Etc. all out of the water.
Cons
None....it is A+ PERFECT
Summary
Bottom line, Microsoft Security Essentials provides the best detection rate of any known viruses/other threats better than all the other freeware scanners I have seen, all the other scanners out there have a long sheet of picking up false positives while scanning, and in my book.....it doesn't even make the others worth having, this is why I like the new Microsoft Security Essentials, it provides a trustworthy detection system that will make less mistakes. I have been using this since beta and have put it through some tests, and it has passed everything with flying colors, Microsoft did a wonderful job on making this....I will never have to pay for a yearly subscription ever again, as long as this stays around. If people are going to run this with a third party firewall, I recommend running Microsoft Security Essentials along side Outpost Firewall Pro with a lifetime license, it runs great and you get a sense of ease while running both, but to get back on track.....Download Microsoft Security Essentials, it is better than the rest and it won't cost you any money.....100% no regrets with this software, its perfect.

"Easy to use!"
Version: Microsoft Security Essentials 1.0.1611.0
Pros
Better user interface than Avira or Avast!
Cons
Speed of downloading updates.
Summary
Combine this product w/ the smart screen filter in IE8 and you are set to go!
I wanted to let people know about a situation I encounterd yesterday in which Essentials done an outstanding jog! I was downloading a file and when I finished MSE kicked in and caught two pieces of malware at the same time!! It was trojan loader(redirector) and a pdf exploit that was only a day old! Keep in mind MS had assigned a signature on March 3 and this was March 4th that MSE stopped the exploit. That is outstanding malware detection especially for a day old signature. The other signature was about two months old. People this download is the real deal! The reviewers giving it low ratings are downloading this software on machings that are already infected. Install this on a malware free maching and I gurantee it will keep anything off of your computer. I was just dumbfounded when MSE came thru yesterday and stopped those two threats. Credit MS for their Dynamic Signature Service for keeping detection rates so high!

Version: Microsoft Security Essentials 1.0.1611.0
Pros
easy to use interface..,adequate scan speeds...,compatible with xp,s security center
Cons
slow defenitions download
Summary
microsoft have had a few security programs over the last few years including windows defender and live onecare,,,however microsofts security essentials have compressed everything into a easy to use security package which even the most novice pc end user will find easy to understand
installation is quite straight forward and as soon as this is completed it then downloads the most up to date defenitions however be aware this can take quite a long time depending on your connection speed
upon completion the program uses very little memory and uses around 2mb of resources which is great for gamers
a great allround package thats as good as any other anti-virus program like avg and avast ! -
