    Version: Microsoft Office Standard 2007

"Stuffed with insane mass of features"

by vmazelis on September 4, 2007

Pros: I like nothing, really, about it. The Office 2007 may have been a good programming exercise for MS programmers, but it's complexity is beyond reason or sense.

Cons: Let's take MS Word, for example. All I use it for is to write letters, make notes and lists for my own use. Why would I, and most average users, need all that enormous immensity of features, which do no fit onto any size screen anymore. They hit you with some reason-free presets, such a double spacing by default, when you press Enter to go to the next line. This way, your letterheads, addresses, etc., are double-spaced, which is a waste of space and looks non-professional in business and personal writing environment. To avoid this, you need to change the default style to that of Word 2003. So shy, then, bother with buyng the Word 2007 in the first place?

To learn all the complexities of the Office, one needs to do a lot of reading and learning. But if you are going to use only some 5 percent of all the enormous set of features, why waste all the time and effort on what you will never use? It's like learning the complete Chinese (both Mandarin and Cantonese), so that you would know a few phrases needed to find your way on your only short trip to China.

This is true for all parts of the Office 2007. I get a real pain in my neck, having to read sideways, bottom up menus in Outlook. I know, Arabs write and read from right to left, but why we, Americans, need to read from bottom to top, having to bend our necks 90 degrees to the left? Anybody injured their neck doing this? See a good lawyer.

"Intense! Jam Packed with Loads of Intuitive and Rich Feature options."

by szachary on May 6, 2008

Pros: Love it!! A excellent follow up to Office '03. Provides a sleeker interface, more options and easier to use functions. Excellent program.

Cons: Reduction in price points have made this software a steal. If your a student grab the discounts while you can. All around, unobtrusive and highly effective software.

"My college installed this and i loced it..."

by Subzidian on July 15, 2008

Pros: it has loads of features (most of them you dont even need) and still runs smoothly. It looks cool and professional and feels like you got your moneys worth. Three different colours to choose from, i personally use black (sometimes blue).

Cons: Powerpoint is a bit slow , possibly because of my computer, because at college its really smooth.

    GET IT NOW!!
