"Works for me - no complaints"

    August 16, 2013  |   By davidmeiri

    Version: Microsoft Office 2011 14.3.6

    Pros

Works as well as the Windows version. I read the other reviews about terrible crashes and data loss - I had none of these issues, and I've been using the software heavily for a year now.

    Cons

very few: cannot set Outlook rules in Exchange.

    Summary

I'm no Micros**t fan -- Mac users typically aren't. But this software has worked very well for me, even in the earliest versions. I hope that any major bugs have been fixed with the many updates MS has released.

"only buy if you like crashes"

    July 25, 2013  |   By snuffel2012

    Version: Microsoft Office 2011 14.3.4

    Pros

more or less compatible with office for Windows

    Cons

Using track changes in Word causes crashes at least 4 times per working day; every time you loose 5-10 minutes work.

Powerpoint occasionally (about 2 times per day) refuses to save your presentation and render the saved version inaccessible; you loose your work and it the mess cannot be deleted.

    Summary

There should be a law against such a crap software

"Outlook for Mac is useless. Dont buy this product"

    July 10, 2013  |   By abratchik

    Version: Microsoft Office 2011 14.3.4

    Pros

compared to MS Office for Windows - none. The only reason to buy this product is to have MS Office on Mac without running Windows on VM. That is it.

    Cons

Word is ok. Excel is much slower than Windows version. Outlook is a disaster. Just to mention - mail archiving simply does not exist. You need to configure it using rules but guess what - you cannot run it on schedule??? Only manual archiving? C'mon guys from MS, you can do much better than this piece of crap. The ugliest part is - you can migrate from Windows version to Outlook for MAC but vice versa is no-no as there is no conversion from olm to pst. You will simply stuck with all your mail archives without option to go back to Windows unless you'd like to pay ~$100 for the 3rd party convertor.

    Summary

If you have any other option please do not buy this product.

"Worst program I have ever used."

    May 1, 2013  |   By Mattevans1995

    Version: Microsoft Office 2011 14.3.2

    Pros

Nice to use word on my mac directly.

    Cons

The amount of space it takes up is disgusting. Never had this problem with office on my Windows laptop.
Recovery function is doesn't do anything to help. Lost 2 hours of work even though I had saved it several times.
Continuing to crash really doesn't help.
Updates don't seem to show any changes at all and yet they take forever sometimes.

    "No Onenote???"

    February 4, 2013  |   By bac99

    Version: Microsoft Office 2011 14.3

    Pros

Does what it supposed to do. Uniformity across apps is nice (Ribbon).

    Cons

    No Onenote! What a disappointment!

    Summary

I'm a scientist. Increasingly the field is moving to electronic lab notebooks. Onenote seemed to be the perfect solution- except it's PC only! Most labs (including ours!) is at least 50% Macs. WHy have an ipad Onenote app but no DESKTOP version????

"Not near as good as the PC version."

    February 2, 2013  |   By dhiney

    Version: Microsoft Office 2011 14.3

    Pros

    Good interface, looks good.

    Cons

I've been a PC user for 20+ years and I switched to a MAC about 18 mos ago. I had to have MS Office since I was very proficient on the PC side. The MAC version is much more difficult to use. I am taking an advance Excel class that is using Excel for PC 2007. I can't do some of the basic features in the MAC 2011 version that I can do in the PC 2007 version. It makes taking a class very difficult. It is very frustrating. There is no reason Microsoft could not duplicate the PC version (s) on the MAC platform.

    Summary

Better than numbers but if you are use to the PC version be ready to be frustrated.

"POS Oh it wants at least 10 characters? POS POS POS P"

    January 9, 2013  |   By Dr0mm3r

    Version: Microsoft Office 2011 14.2.5

    Pros

It's supposed to work on a Mac

    Cons

It doesn't work well on a Mac

    Summary

Bugs and time consuming BS! In the six months I've had this software I haven't seen a single upgrade or software revision.

Instead of addressing the issues and revising the software, it seems that Microsoft just lists pages and pages of step-by-step fix-it directions that make the consumer do all the work.

    Typical Microsoft crap
