The publisher of the description of this product should have done his research as after installing this on my Windows 98SE computer, it miniturized all the graphics on my computer and will not play videos. I tried lowering the settings for resolution with no results. I have always trusted downloads from this sight, but NO MORE!!!! Even Microsoft's website says this is compatible. What a joke!!! Thanks for the lousy advice!!! And thanks for nothing.

Well, I downloaded it, then i tried installing, and rebooting, and everytime it goes thru first part, then it goes into this thing that says can take a few minutes, i wait a few minutes and the thing quits responding, nothing... why is this?!

installed direct x 8.1 to run a screensaver,now all i get is my win me screen at boot. then i try to reformat and it wont do it,screen goes blank after it says its loading win98,have no idea to get it back to origianl state,nothing seems to work.this program sucks!!! please any suggestions on how to help me email me at seattlelite@charter.net my only other option is take it to the shop and really dont want to do that!! In the past I used DirectX7.0-8.0 and had no major problems with either. I downloaded 8.1 and my computer became very unstable and would freeze up quite often. Since DirectX doesn't come with an uninstaller, I had to search for one and came up with DirectX Buster. This program removed the virus out of my O/S. I reinstalled 7.0 and I'm very happy I took a couple of steps backwards. I recommend not to upgrade to 8.1. If you presently have an older version, do yourself a big favor and continue using it.
