"Very good upgrade Big improvement in direct draw"

    January 6, 2005  |

Version: Microsoft DirectX Drivers Redistributable 9.0c

    Summary

I don't know what the others are complaining about. I own an old P2 366 laptop with a garbage S3 virge MX 4mb graphics card and noticed an increase in performance in playing several games. The most noticable performance increase was with direct draw acceleration. When I run their direct draw test, this new version performs double as well as direct X 8.1 I was previously useing. Also software rendered direct 3D performs better. Had no problems. Two thumbs up.

    "Stick with 9.0b, not 9.0c"

    December 16, 2004  |

Version: Microsoft DirectX Drivers Redistributable 9.0c

    Summary

From what I've been experiencing with the rise of Directx 9.0c is turning me off from upgrading to newer versions of it.

Directx 9.0b didn't give me any problems and I never did have one complaint. Now however with the installation of Directx 9.0c I'm experiencing locked up DirectSound Buffers on my AC97 audio and 32bit USB Audio.

It works fine normally but just regular use after a while, all sound is lost and and most programs (if they don't lock up after) will report either bad,in use, or non-existant DirectSound buffers.

Even turning off all acceleration (despite there not being any with AC97 audio)reduces its occurence but it still happens often.

Only solution is with a manual restart as any other shutdown results in a permanent BSOD afterward.

Well, In short; A beta junkie finally gets nipped in the butt by at least one piece of beta software... software by microsoft called Directx 9.0c.

    "Works perfect"

    November 12, 2004  |

Version: Microsoft DirectX Drivers Redistributable 9.0c

    Summary

In response to such reviews as "DirectX Blows" and "Another fine Microsoft Beta" stop being such a noob and learn how to build and troubleshoot PC's. I've installed DX9C on many properly built and maintained PC's with absolutely no problems. From what I see, the people reviewing this product aren't power users and certainly don't see that they have other problems. To the fine author of "Permenant hardware damage" take a look at your video card as the root of your problems, sounds like a hardware issue to me. Please try and logically fix your problems before you flame Microsoft, yeah they charge alot for the product but for the majority their products work just fine. AMD 3200 64 bit, Asus K8VSE Deluxe, Nvidia GeForce 6800OC, 1GB DDR RAM, 200GB HD, Windows XP Pro SP2 with DX9C. CS-S, FarCry, Doom3...all games work great, computer with no stability issues and great performance.

    "DirectX Blows"

    November 6, 2004  |   By PCCRomeo

Version: Microsoft DirectX Drivers Redistributable 9.0c

    Summary

For DirectX to be such an important to Windows it really sucks! I am always having problems with it. It works okay with older games, that arent as 3-D as newer games suchs as Sim City 4 and Roller Coaster Tycoon 3, But for newer games it's no good. I'm having the hardest time getting Roller Coaster Tycoon 3 to run with it. It says it can't find DirectX 9 on my computer.....Whatever....Work a lil' harder next time Microsoft, OKAY?
