    "This metronome is ridiculously under-featured."

    July 12, 2011  |   By greythunder

    Version: Metronome 9.0 buld 383

    Pros

Instead of listing pros and cons separately, I'll just review the item as a whole below.

    Cons

    Summary

This is meant to be a basic metronome for musicians. But, it is so ridiculously basic that it is absolutely unusable. You can only use BPM's of 40, 50, 60, 70, 80, 90, 100, 110, 120, 130, 140, 150 and 160. This means if a song happens to be 125 BPM, this metronome will not be able to help you play it correctly. You can also only play the metronome on a 4/4, 3/4, 6/8 or 'none' setting, which doesn't give you a ton of variety on what kind of music you can play with it. On top of that, there is absolutely no way to control the sound or volume in the program itself, which can suck if you are using any other sound-related thing on your computer.

Sure, this is free, but you get exactly what you pay for. Nothing. If you want a good free metronome, download Weird Metronome from this site. Still being free, Weird Metronome is extremely customizable and will fit any needs or wants you will ever have for a metronome, even if you are a very experienced and advanced musician. So avoid this program, and get that one.

    "Simple and Functional"

    October 25, 2010  |   By jandsm5321

    Version: Metronome 9.0 buld 383

    Pros

It works, I've had problems with MIDI based ones but this one uses WAV files.

    Cons

As mentioned in the other reviews, you can only choose 40 to 160 bpm at intervals of 10

    Summary

The reason the program lacks tempo choices is because each setting actually plays a wave file that has ticks at the right tempo. This can be handy for some because other metronomes try to use MIDI sounds but they have problems on modern computers where midi is rarely used anymore. "Don't knock it, it works!"

    "Sweet and simple"

    August 21, 2005  |   By wahoodoss

    Version: Metronome 9.0 buld 383

    Pros

Very simple program. Very easy to use. It doesn't have many options but that's the beauty of it. Speeds range from 40 to 160 by intervals of 10. You don't really need more than that unless you are a super shredder.

    Cons

Minor picky con: When you change the time signature the program stops and resets speed to zero. I wish it would change "on the fly".
