"More comments"
Version: Metapad 3.5
Summary
When I post the first review, I just started using. Since then, I have learned that it has even more neat features like up-down and left-right scrollings and instant font changes. It's just great. I just made it my default text reader, too. How many time have opened a readme file and then I have to move that mouse around just to close it? For me, too many. No more, now one keystroke and it's closed. Awesome.

"The Notepad replacement software"
Version: Metapad 3.5
Summary
I have both Editpad Lite and Metapad on my laptop. I use Metapad most of the time though. It's almost as small and fast as Notepad, but offers so much more. Being able hit the Escape button to close the application is just great. Hit Shift and Escape and you an option to save the file before closing. ALL SOFTWARE SHOULD HAVE THESE FEATURES. I love using. Download it and you will too.

"Small yet powerful!"
Version: Metapad 3.5
Summary
Where Notepad fails, Metapad kicks in. It includes a Go To Line: option which took Microsoft a few years to come up with (finally on Notepad for WinXP), and supports other processors' formatting such as paragraph returns which Notepad still doesn't support!

"Best All-Purpose Editor"
Version: Metapad 3.5
Summary
A programmer's dream tool for tweaking code. No file size limitations, no fluff, just useful features in an intuitive layout.

"Finally...!"
Version: Metapad 3.5
Summary
No fat, no fluff. Alexander Davidson successfully resisted the tempation to cram this fast little text editor with seldom-used gimmicks. Even if I could, there is little I'd change about Metapad. It has genuinely useful text-formatting tools like block indent and un-indent, can wrap and unwrap lines, and uses a familar WinWord keyboard emulation (along with much more). Alexander Davidson did his homework, and gave us a tiny little freeware text editor that's a real giant-killer.
Most Notepad "replacements" aren't even as good as the original, but Metapad is one of the pleasant exceptions, and it even compares favorably with some of the large and expensive "programmer's" text editors. -
