"WAY too much for a glorified notepad that has issues!"

    June 28, 2009  |   By scottgsmith62

    Version: MeshWrite 1.2.6

    Pros

Looks very slick, and the idea of having the lines on the page as you type is appealing as well. Ability ot have more or less lines is also pretty nice.

    Cons

The rendering of more or less lines on the page is does not always look that great. There is no way to organize any of the notes that you have created... it is basically like a pad of paper - hence my comment that it is a glorified notepad.

    Summary

The idea of MeshWrite is attractive. If the company can get the rendering perfected of how the pages display themselves more or less lines on the page, and give the user some kind of ability to organize their work (like a collapsible outline at the left side of the page), then the application would be much better.
The hardest sell of this product however, is the cost. Close to $40 is incredibly high for something that turns out to be nothing more than a simple text editor, and one that does not have many features at all. There are scores of free text editors that far outstrip this one; first one that comes to mind if Evernote. This application has light years to go before it could hope to reach a modicum of the usability of Evernote.
If all you need is a text editor that goes for eye candy over function, and that costs a lot of money, then MeshWrite is probably something you will love.

    "Good product but quite niche."

    May 11, 2009  |   By Sandy_w

    Version: MeshWrite 1.1.3

    Summary

This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.
I've been using this for a few months now and I really like it. My husband doesn't "get it" so he thinks it's daft so I guess some people will hate it. If that's the case it's not for you. I feel it's a bit like a sort of notebook that has your scribbles and ideas in that you flip through rather than a main editor. I'm a writer and I use it side by side with my word processor and that works for me.
