  "Wonderful Music Management ...Video?"

  Pros

  This program really has it all for music management. I have added the DSP Stereo tool plugin and find this to be all I need in a music player. Great Layout (User Interface). You can configure this gem almost anyway you wish. It sounds (especially with plugins) much better than iTunes or Windows Media Player. For a free music management tool, you just can't get better. I'm an audiophile and use FLAC or 320 CBR MP3's. This plays both without issue.

  Cons

  As far as I can tell there is no way to disable the startup splash screen. I find the video functions to be very limited and almost useless IMHO. Can't sync devices without downloading iTunes.

  Summary

  Don't get this for video. Don't get this for devices. Get this for it's wonderful music capabilities. It sounds really good and makes it easy to browse, play and manage small or large music libraries. It has everything any other player has and it's free! If MediaMonkey's video features improved I would pay for the upgrade. I use JetVideo for Vids. MediaMonkey is all I use for music. Just try it. If you don't like it, the uninstall works great.

  It's very easy to disable the splash screen. From the menu, select TOOlS > OPTIONS > GENERAL. Unselect the option to "show splash screen at startup." No more splash screens.
  
  I've been using MM Gold for a couple of years and love it. Definitely worth the price of upgrading. And I have a database of over 680K tracks to manage.
  
  As for video, I have never used it. For music files, I love it. If there is anything better, please let me know and why.
