Version: MediaMonkey Standard 2.5.5.998
Pros: Excellent library management, tag editing, file conversion, ripping and burning. Lots of less obvious features, including the ability to create statistics for just about every use, and a locked-down "party" mode that prevents casual interference.
Cons: Full of nag screens - just about every menu and dialog has options that are only available in the paid "Pro" version, and they make this abundantly clear at every possible opportunity. Very limited skinning - doesn't worry me, as the interface is pleasant enough as it is, but compared with Winamp or even XMPlay it's distinctly lacking. Worst of all, the sound is just not up to the best players. There is a replay gain facility, with an anti-clipping option, but it doesn't seem to work (maybe it's only for paying customers???) and the result is the digital equivalent of preamp distortion. Compared with XMPlay in particular it just sounds rough and harsh. Pity, because the concept is great, and the program is fast, stable and intuitive to use.

Version: MediaMonkey Standard 2.5.5.998
"Great player for regular users"
Pros: MediaMonkey makes it a ton easier to handle my music collection than in WMP or JetAudio. The ease of tagging and organizing my music makes it more enjoyable than a hassle to do so. It doesn't play every file out there, but it does play the most popular media files so for average users, this is a great player. It also makes syncing to my non-ipod creative zen a lot easier than in WMP.
Cons: It can't play .midi nor does it have a repeat. However you can clear the playlist and add one song and put it on continuous and that works just as well.

Version: MediaMonkey Standard 2.5.5.998
"Very good music player/organizer."
Pros: I used this version for a long time, then updated to version 3 (at Softpedia) and split the cost of Media Monkey Gold with a friend. Complaints about nag screen never bothered me and with the Gold version they stopped. Both this and version 3 work fine on both my hard drives (Vista and Win XP Pro), In fact v3 is so good it's set as my default music player. Easy to use and create play lists. burn etc.
Cons: This version needs to be updated at this web site. As to the program I'm using, no cons at all. Once you purchase the Gold version, your key is good for life.

Version: MediaMonkey Standard 2.5.5.998
"My first choice in a digital music player."
Pros: I'm going to keep this simple. It's fast easy to use, easy to download and install, has a great interface, located all 4 GB of my music (every song) and in the play lists I had already worked so hard to create. Plays great and believe it or not, works perfect on my "Vista" computers. I like to do things my way and this application lets me do just that. This is my favorite digital music player.
Cons: No cons at all.

Version: MediaMonkey Standard 2.5.5.998
Pros: I got this software principally as a means for keeping track of my music files, which it's great for. I was pleasantly surprised at how good the player that's included was too, you can use the default player or set it up to work with your favourite player without it being a pain to do so.
I've got a few gigabytes of audio files on my main PC and managing them all had got to be a real pain, a few years ago I came across this application, after setting it up as I wanted to I left it to find the audio files that I wanted added to the library, though not ultra quick because of the number of files to search through, it was still very impressive in it's speed at finding all of the files that I wanted found. I have yet to find a file that MM has missed, which I wanted it to find.
You can control what files are added to the library really well, very useful if you don't want long lists of Windows OS sound files in with your regular music files! It has tended to want to be associated with music files as your main player in earlier versions more than this current version, or maybe that was just a quirk on my set up. Another quirk I had with an earlier version was that it kept reverting to it's own player as the chosen one, when I wanted Winamp to be, but that's no longer a situation with this version.
My audio files are filed as I want them to be in MM's library, it's all very well organised and customisable in this aspect. A very good addition for anyone who wants to be able to find that music file, that you downloaded/ripped ages ago, and have not heard for ages, because you can't find which folder in which partion you saved it in! That was me before MM!
Cons: N/A
