Version: MediaLion DVD Ripper Pro 5.9
"OK to begin with, but support has evaporated."
Pros: Quick, good quality transfers (for the most part) into a good range of formats.
Cons: Sometimes vague interface with ambiguous / unexplained options. Requests for support have been unanswered.
Summary: I purchased this so that I could rip straight to a format compatible with my Creative Zen. In the most part it's done quite well with quick good quality rips (after spending considerable time working out the interface and the correct settings), but I'm having problems with Anamorphic encoded DVD's (recorded from TV) and the quality nosedived. I've emailed Medialion over a number of weeks, but have had no reply. I now have to use a combination of Handbrake and Creative's own software to rip these types of recordings (which now takes hours rather than the 1/2 hour it took with DVD Ripper Pro). If they resolve this problem I'll re-visit this posting, otherwise I would advise caution spending any money on this.
