I have been using Mediafire for several months noW.But in the last few months I have started to have problems.First, many times when I have logged into my account and try to download a file I am forced to copy catchpa(letters and characters they give you to verify) before the site will take me to the download page. Why do I have to complete catchps to download MY OWN FILES that I have put there? But now I have an even worse problem-the Mediafire website is broken and now I cannot download any of my files and nether can my friends and other people I have talked to who have tried. And Mediafire won't fix the problem.
Uses flash which slows down the website. I am forced to enter catchpa to download MY OWN FILES.
Puts adverts and keylogers on the downloads. Now the downloads are not working on Mediafire because of a fault on their website that they won't admit to when I emailed them about it.
What happens is that I and other people try to download the file but are just redirected back to the download page again and again. But NO Download. You cannot download anything. This fault has been going on since Friday 8th June for 2 days now.It is now Sunday. And Mediafire won't fix it. so I and other users cannot download our files.
The customer service of Mediafire is terrible, and I found out the hard way. There is a fault on the website and now you cannot download any of your files or anything. This has been going on for 2 days now. You are taken to the download page but when you click the download button you are just redirected back to the download page again and again but NO DOWNLOAD.They also force you to enter catchpa before they take you to the download page.
Why do I have to enter catchpa to download MY OWN FILES? But now I do not have any access to my files because I cannot download them. There is a fault on the website,Mediafire that has been there for 2 days but Mediafire won't fix it.
I emailed them and in the first email they told me they removed 1 bad file from another user and the IWF got involved and blocked Mediafire, and that they are fixing it. But yesterday after I complained again by email. They emailed me again and said it is the IWF who blocked the site but now the website is working for everyone else. NO IT IS NOT. My Friends and I and other people in the UK I have talked to still cannot download their files or anything.
But Mediafire won't fix the problem. And now I cannot download or access any of my files and not only me. My friends cannot either.
So my advice stay away from Mediafire. If you are with Mediafire leave and find another file sharing site. And if you have left Mediafire don't go back. The service of Mediafire is disgusting and they don't care about their customers at all. Andrea Borman.

Mediafire won't let you download because the Internet Watch Foundation - which is a Christian pressure group, not an official body, and has no executive powers but has managed to get an advisory role for itself with ISPs - have found a file on Mediafire that they object to.
What this file is or was is anyone's guess. It's not worth your time worrying about it. Your ISP has blocked Mediafire so that you cannot download files from them, because of the IWF warning that it hosts "objectionable content".
To resolve this, contact your ISP and tell them that you cannot access your service on Mediafire. Politely ask them to unblock it so that you can access your files. If they refuse, tell them you would like to cancel your connection over this matter. Unless they've been forced to block Mediafire by a court - which as far as I know hasn't happened - they have no reason to continue blocking it. The IWF has no say in what you get to do online - they're just a pressure group.
Cheap if you need 1TB of storage.
You'll never fill your 1TB of storage before the end the of time. Uploading is soooo slow it is completely unusable. 100MB file uploaded to Google Drive took 10 seconds. The same file to MediaFire took 12 minutes.
I did contact support about the speed when I first got the account and they asked a couple of questions (after a week!) which I responded to. They never got back to me after that... go figure!
There are better storage options out there. If you want free, MediaFire's 12GB is reasonable but nothing special (box give out 50GB). If you want 1TB it is certainly cheap but clearly you get what you pay for here. If you have enough time, you might even fill up your 1TB but I suspect the end of the universe is likely to prevent you from achieving that lofty goal.
If you use the free version it's fine.
I went with the paid version. The system is completely unsecure. You do not want to trust any of your files with MediaFire. Once you upload your files to their system, even if you don't share your files with anyone, you will find that others have downloaded your files, this is indicated by the number of downloads on next to each file.
Very unsecure, you cannot trust your files with them.
Good design, simple and plain, you can upload from the web, not expensive
You can't pay with paypal; charges you without your permission; slow website,
I registered to this website, mainly because I needed a file host for my website. Since Mediafire claimed, that they offer direct links to files I thought I could use it to host larger files for my website.
So I decided to try Mediafire pro package for a month. My first disappointment was, they do not accept paypal - only credit card. When I had payed for the pro package, I finally gave it a try. I uploaded some files and I wanted to take an advantage of direct link to files (I assumed it meant hotlinking), that they had offered. It didn't work! I wanted to add some pictures on my website, but I couldn't. I could not get direct inks to files as they had promised. I asked for a refund, but they said that they pay only if I have technical issues. So I decided to forget this site and never return.
But recently I received an email, that I have been charged for pro account again. When I registered I didn't agree to any automatic payments and they didn't warn me that this could happen. I had bought pro package only for one month.
Now I am waiting for response from their support team , but I doubt that I will ever see my lost money again.
Click and downloaded(Downloading)
It says it will take 0.001 seconds to download a 1mb file, im still waiting 5 hours later.
IT FU**ING SUCKS
None that I can tell. There are much cheaper, more user friendly options.
If you use their $199 fee-based services, you hear from them ONCE to 'welcome' you and - read the fine print details - tell you that your credit card will be charged annually. Then you NEVER HEAR FROM THEM AGAIN. After you try out their storage system, get frustrated and abandon it, you naturally forget them like they want you to. Then, a year later, after absolutely no contact or communication with you, WHAM!, a $199 charge shows up on your credit card statement. We're you told that you were coming up for renewal? Of course not! When you call them immediately and say you havent used their service and don't want to renew, will they issue you a credit? NO! Read the fine print, they say! One second into the renewal year and you are locked in, baby.
Avoid at all costs! Besides, there are a lot more options nowadays that are cheaper, work better, and offer reasonable customer service.
Let me make a correction to my review, since it appears I am unable to edit the original content. I really don't know what the company's intent is when they fail to give renewal notices or have no ongoing contact with their customers. It is just not what I have come to expect from companies. Nowadays, I typically get renewal notices or, if not, get a reasonable adjustment or refund if I advise them of my intent to not renew.

NONE. Except that I manage to accumulate 56Gb of storage space
1.Horrendously slow upload speed compared to DROPBOX or GDrive(No file size limitation)
2.Cannot upload files anything larger than 400Mb.
3.Causes my PC to crash if it allowed to start with Windows.(Had uninstall it once to eliminate the crashes)
4.Thought that this was resolved with the desktop version, it wasnt I had slow Windows startup now.
5. No support from android developers (unlike Dropbox and GDrive)
Will not recommend for anybody to use this service.I only maintain it cause I already have files uploaded in its service.
multiple uploading, easy to use but that's it.
The only thing that other people can see my documents without my consent or even my knowledge is a showstopper for me. I created a new account and uploaded some documents. Next day, I was able to see and delete some documents under my username that someone else uploaded. That tells me that my documents are also visible under someone else's account. That was enough for me to put the brakes on and switch off my account.
Easy to use
They think a simple text file list or a python program somehow violates copyright law. Things that I personally created. Meanwhile the things I've uploaded that really would be considered a copyright violation have never been questioned. They've got it all backwards!
Avoid at all costs.
The web design is pretty.
I've used it for over a year, and I can never upload files of 1GB or higher without issues. As a professional, I need reliability when it comes to uploading files, and mediafire.com has failed me one too many times.
Do not use. Find something else.
can upload and share files and photos easily
Until late 2012 this site worked fine and provided useful services. Starting 2013 upload speeds are extremely slow and it sometimes takes many attempts for upload even few photos.
As is, the site is completely useless.
Go elsewhere for sharing your media files.
