  "if 32bit/x86 you should untick all 64bit stuff"

  installer MUST be used with detailed option or spyware toolbars
  get installed by default.

  2+2=it better play my mp4's with audio now, cause thats the only reason I'm here.

  Thanks CNET, I found what I needed, cause my player started bugging and I wasn't able to watch any video, with the help of it I'm able to watch my favourite films again!

  "Better file type support in Windows Media Player"

  Pros

  Allows you to play common and uncommon media types that Windows Media Player lacks from the factory; includes support for FLV, WEBM (WEBA, WEBV), OGG (OGA, OGV), and QuickTime-supported types (MP4, etc.). Often more efficient than opening the same file in Quicktime or other media players. By adding support for file types to WMP, reduces the number of media players you need to have installed. Smaller memory usage from some other codecs, such as OGG/WEBM support directly from Xiph.org.

  Cons

  Installer includes "Dealio Toolbar", but it can be unselected when installing. Installer does not differentiate between 32-bit and 64-bit systems, so a "Detailed Installation" is recommended to install only the codecs you need for you system. Splitters included with this pack can break playing some WMV files. Codecs are not MCE compatible and WILL produce garbled display when playing DVDs in WMP when installed (I had to make a script to unregister the MPEG-2 Decoders when playing DVDs, and the re-register them for other files). "File associations" with this pack are only for Windows Vista/Windows 7, so they are not appropriate for XP (but the codecs DO work under XP).

  Summary

  Overall, this codec pack fills in the gaps in Windows Media Player. The installer needs some work to be more efficient and to differentiate between x86 and x64 computers without a customized installation. The MPEG-2 decoders need to be updated for proper DVD playback without a garbled display. Aside from its faults, this codec pack is very useful.

  "A Must for heavy media users"

  does a great job of combining common codecs that aren't in windows media player as well as some rarer ones

  Cons

  Sometimes it doesn't always work prompting a "send error"
