  I downloaded this codec pack to enable DVD playback. Unfortunately, although it claims to contain the correct codecs, it does not.

  Hi, I'm the author of the package. DVD playback support is native to Windows XP and all higher versions. If you break the playback of DVD's in Windows Media Player you need to re-install Windows Media Player.
  The codecs in the pack do work with DVD's as advertised, provided that you have not already installed something that breaks DVD playback, for example "Play DVD" which you wrote a previous review for.
