    "Suprisingly good!"

    July 14, 2006  |   By ArjunKhalsa

    Version: Media Player Classic 6.4.9

    Pros

Very quick at opening files and has a no nonsense old school interface. Supports advanced video filters too if you are looking to use them but I'm sure most of us will be happy with it's instant play capabilities. Terrific support for subtitles. Sound quality is the best I've heard other than that of WMP 10. No installation needed!

    Cons

Someimes has problems dealing with highly compressed mpeg files but it doesn't hang up the system. I couldn't find the controls for modifying saturation, hue, etc. so had to modify my gpu's video overlay settings.

    "reliable player"

    June 13, 2006  |   By CronicHazel

    Version: Media Player Classic 6.4.9

    Pros

this product is the most reliable player i've used, and can handle any media file [some require codecs tho]

if you've downloaded this from a codec pack like k-lite mega codec pack, then you're set. although some people prefer the VLC player, i've found this one much more easy to use, and i've also found this program to be much more stable than VLC.

"Another great example of improved Windows Software!"

    April 15, 2006  |   By thefjk

    Version: Media Player Classic 6.4.9

    Pros

Before I knew about VLC, DivX and all the other advanced players, the old Windows Media Player was my favourite. But this substitute makes it even more better, and its one you should have, just in case your other "players" crash or fails to display a certain video.

MPC is also the best at playing .mwv files. No errors no bugs, all your .mwv files, play much better than even in Windows Media Player 9+.

    Cons

Needs video colour controls, and an XP'ish user-interface, that still retains the original MP's structure!
