"heat seeking missiles"
Version: MechWarrior 2
Pros
was able to install it in my vista home premium 64-bit custom pc using virtual pc 2007 with windows 98 se & my treasured pristine copy of the original CD, it's working great!
Cons
1) will only recognize the left thumb control and the first four buttons of my logitech precision game pad and can't customize it, it would be nice if it would recognize and let me assign the four front buttons as well.
2) no heat seeking missiles!Summary
Awesome game for it's time! does anyone know how to make it accept and customize 10- button game pads and how to get heat seeking missiles? is there a patch or maybe is it the ghost bear expansion pack that adds heat seekers?

"Will not Open"
Version: MechWarrior 2
Pros
None at the moment
Cons
It is very hard to rate this as none of the Mech Series will open. If any one can tell me how to open them on a Modern PC I will look forward to playing them again.

"One of the Greatest Games Ever!"
Version: MechWarrior 2
Pros
Mechwarrior 2 is really one of the greatest games ever made. Everything about it is awesome. Story, gameplay, graphics (for its time), soundtrack, etc.
This was one of the first PC games that I ever played, and is still one of my favorite. Though it may be hard to find now (ebay is your best bet), I suggest that you at least give it a try.
Cons
Since it is an older game, the graphics are laughable by today's standards. However, back in its time, they were nothing short of incredible. Also, this game has a ton of compatibility issues with the newer Operating Systems. You can get the DOS version to run up to about Windows 98. Then you have to switch to the Windows 95 version for ME. Microsoft Virtual Machine is the only way that you can play it on 2000/XP, so if you really want this game, be ready to dish out some money.
