This handy extension for Internet Explorer makes a great addition to your Web security arsenal. SiteAdvisor draws from an enormous database of Web sites that have been checked out for spyware threats, malicious cookies, and questionable marketing ploys.
Sitting quietly at the bottom of your browser, SiteAdvisor indicates the safety rating of your current site. Green is for safe sites, yellow for sites with some questionable practices, and red for particularly dangerous sites. The color-coded rating system also annotates your Google and Yahoo search results, providing advance warning of potential drive-by spyware installation and other dangers. An available online breakdown shows what kind of testing underpins the danger assessments. We also like the extensive site profiles with user ratings, which allow you to check out a site before risking a visit.
In some cases, SiteAdvisor errs on the side of caution, labeling sites as dangerous because of minor infractions, but these are few and far in between. This free extension is an obvious choice for IE users who want better Web security.

Version: McAfee SiteAdvisor for Internet Explorer 2.4 build 6066
Pros: I'm not sure why it doesn't show that it works perfectly with "Vista", but it does. This is one "Mcafee" product I really like. I've used it for what seems like forever and watched it's data base grow to encompass 99% of all web sites and you can trust the advice it gives fully. It's a great learning application for children and the less experienced computer user. There are versions for both "Firefox" and "Internet Explorer" and in my opinion it's a very useful tool.
Cons: I wish it worked with "Opera". "AOL" and all "IE Based" browsers. That would make it a full fledged 5+ star application.

Version: McAfee SiteAdvisor for Internet Explorer 2.4 build 6066
Pros: This program tells you which stie is good or bad. Works for all search site engine. Such as google.com, yahoo.com, ask.com, etc. When you see a green check mark next to the site link, it means its an good site and you can go in there. If you see the yellow circle with a ! in the middle, it means that that the site is good in some ways but also can be bad in another way. If you see a grey circle with the ? in the middle means they didnt tested it out so becareful when going in. The red circle with an X in the middle means that its a bad site and can have spyware, virus, and tracking cookie files. Sometimes Mcafee siteadisor stops you from going to a site that will automatically mess up your computer just for going in that site. Very good program and recommended for people who like to visit sites or look for sites to download programs and things like that.
