Version: Maxthon Access 1.2.19
"Similar to GoToMy PC, but its FREE!"
Pros: This small application rocks! Its only 4mb, installation is super easy and it performs perfectly. I can access all my files from my home or office computers from any web browser. Once you install the application on the PC you want to access, you just need to go through a web browser to access your computer. I can even access my files from my new Treo 700's web browser and it seems to know I am using a PDA for everything is scaled down for it!
This little application also allows me to share files directly from my PC to my friends and family without them having to install anything on their own computers. They just click on the link that is emailed to them and they can see only the files I have shared with them right off my computer! How cool is that?
The program is made by a company called Avvenu and from what I read off their website they say they use 128-bit SSL connection, so it seems pretty safe. I did email them and asked how it could be a free program and they told me that they will be offering a "premium" service in the near future which won't replace this, but just offer the user more features. Either way, I say get it now while its still free!
Cons: It can be a little slow and navigation needs some improvement, but it doesn't stop me from using it. Its free, what more can anyone ask for?

However, I ran into some problems/concerns that you might find interesting. The publishers of this software is linked with t35.com, which more and more, is a very untrustworthy site.
I wanted to ask you if your using Mcafee Site advisor?
When considering the possibilities of what you could be passing through your computer to your family and friend, and vise-versa, I was very concerned about the safety issues. We hear of so many horror stories today in regards to the internet, and I wouldn't want that from a fellow Download.com
member!
