"Easy to Install, Easy to Use and Works Fast!"
Version: MaxMem 1.04
Pros
Maxmem works like its supposed to. Its easy to install, configure and use. It clears and free's up memory very fast. It has an easily readable graph that opens in taskbar.
Cons
None. There are no hidden agenda's with this FREE app;.No toolbars added in or home pages taken away....
Summary
All you have to do is click on the graph to free up more memory if you need it. It helps my laptop to not freeze when I have 1 or 2 heavy RAM usage programs open (Photoshop or Illustrator) along with some web pages. I've used this on several pc's over the last 5yrs and it's always consistent. In fact there has never been an update the whole time I've used it.

"Great Memory Support for My Computer"
Version: MaxMem 1.04
Pros
I have about half the RAM I should. MaxMem has keep my computer from freezing up at critical points and for the most part stops the noise. I really love this product and if they came up with a reasonably priced advanced version, I would buy it.
Cons
No cons really. It's free and it works great.
Summary
I like this program because it saved me from running out and buying more RAM. Money is tight right now and I appreciate the time and effort that this company took to develop this product and offer it to me for FREE. They didn't even ask me for an email address. On top of that It has been consistently reliable.
I am always amazed by people who waste time whining about a free product. Also complaints from people who clearly do not know how to use the product. I mean really, grow a brain! If you don't like it, don't use it. -
"What the hell kind of review is that from cnet staf??"
Version: MaxMem 1.04
Pros
four star review
Cons
Havent tried it yet due to the wacky review from cnet
Summary
"whether it freed up enough of our test system's 6GB of RAM to make a substantial difference in performance is hard to say." Is the whole idea of a review supposed to be that you DO end up saying if the thing works or not? "but it can improve performance in gaming, video production, and other memory-intensive operations...." how did you conclude this, if a substantial difference is "hard to say"? Have you just copy/pasted the manufacturers blurb? And come to think of it, what are the 4 stars even based on then? Come on people. In what way do you think this review helps us? I mean, ***??
@mystical pippin: You are wrong. I have not reviewed the product. I'm critiquing cnet's review. So calling me names for something you accuse me of doing which I have not done makes you look the total fool. Isn't the point of cnet reviews to tell us about the software BEFORE we download and install it? If they can't do that, then what's the point of this website?

"Replenish your memory whenever you need it."
Version: MaxMem 1.04
Pros
I make it start when windows start and it sits in the task bar. Simple interface, easy to use and quick to respond. It has 3 options for one to choose from ie normal, periodic and aggressive.
Cons
How I wish it could be faster still when in the aggressive mode.
Summary
Had been using the product for at least 3 years without any hicks. It is small in size and doesn't consume space. It is responsive and recovers memory quite rapidly.
