"Mario Forever Galaxy = Great Game!"

    March 17, 2009  |   By Killerd73

    Version: Mario Forever Galaxy 1.8

    Pros

For it to be free this game is awesome! If your into classic arcade shooters like Galaga than you will definitely like this game.

    Cons

Ok, the only thing I dont like about this game is the bad grammar and spelling. For example, the creators of the game spelled Luigi as "Luigy."

    Summary

The weapon selection is amazing! You unlock a lot of weapons throughout the game. I haven't passed the game yet, and I've been playing for quite a while now. Its a nice casual game, it's not too hard once you upgrade your spaceship and buy stronger weapons. The music is great, too. It gets you pumped up if you have your speakers blasting like I do.

"A Decent Wast of your Time"

    March 7, 2009  |   By TruthBucket

    Version: Mario Forever Galaxy 1.8

    Pros

    - Fast Paced
    - Good Graphics/Visualizations
    - Easy to Jump Right Into
    - Large Selection of Weapons and Upgrades
    - Decent Music
    - No Voice Acting
    - Colorful

    Cons

    - Bad Plot
    - Missions are Basically the Same Thing Over and Over
    - Gameplay is Very Repetitive
    - Music boring after a while
    - Bad dialogue

    Summary

    Bottom-Line:

In short this is a fantastic game for you to download real fast and waste half an hour on. It has fun graphics and interesting (for the first 15 missions) gameplay. However, if your a fan of in-depth games with character development that go somewhere, this is not the game for you. If you are however someone who likes a simple shoot-em-up game, go for it.

    "Great Free Game!!"

    March 1, 2009  |   By Rexcaliber

    Version: Mario Forever Galaxy 1.8

    Pros

Great graphics (for a free game!)
Humorous twist on the Mario storyline
Awesome upgradable ship - Highly customizable weapons
Powerful Bosses, Multiple Baddies, and Fun Final Stages in Castles

    Cons

Painfully slow loading time when starting the game.
    Missing wide screen support
    Repetitive music
    Some language/cursing
Lots of typos (but this adds to the humor in the dialogue)

    Summary

In MFG, you can pick between four characters: Mario, Luigi, Toad (called Kinopio - Why? I don't know...) and Samus (hahaha, Yes, Samus is NOT a Mario character... but a great addition). Each have their own pros and cons. Samus has great firing speed, but slow ship movement. Luigi gets powerups more often, Mario gets bonus coins, and Kinopio gets cheaper upgrades. First, you go through a tutorial to learn the ropes of the game. Then you progress through levels, earning coins, buying new weapons, repairing your ship. The battles are in a Space Invaders fashion, with the screen fixed while you are free to move about the field. At the end of every map, however, you come to a Castle . You abandon you fixed field and now you are forced through the long, treacherous path of Bowser's Castle. You must try to keep up with the screen, or risk death.

This game is quite long. (It took me about a month to beat the game) The levels rarely feel repetitive, although sometimes when you're stuck on a level, playing it over and over, it can get boring. The storyline is the usual, with Bowser kidnapping Peach. One of the best parts is after you pass the Castle at the end of a world, defeat Bowser, and then you meet a Toad. He always says something around the lines of "Mario! The Princess isn't in this Castle. She's in a different one!" Mario sighs, and moves on to the next world.

Cons: Painfully slow loading time when you start the game. Often the game actually crashes. But if you wait for about 5min, it recovers and boots up. The game handles graphic overload by slowing down the gameplay when too many things are on the screen. Screen resolutions can go up to 1600x . Sadly, there isn't a widescreen setting. You can choose full screen or window. The music is also good, but can be tedious after 10mins.

MFG is a great game, my favorite from Softendo/Buziol games. I highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for a good free game!

I have noticed that many people are reporting glitches on the final levels. I have played this game all the way through, and have not experienced any windows saying that there is a problem. However, I am running MFG on an Intel Core2 Duo T9500, and my video card is an nVidia GeForce 9800, so my laptop will probably not preform the same as yours. Thus i realize that you may have issues with lagging and/or glitches.

I also forgot to add that you can change the buttons for actions to anything you want. This can be handy for making the activate power up button farther away from the fire button to prevent accidental usage of specials.

Easy to startup and to play, increases in difficulty after you've got the basics. Keyboard may be modified, but is initially set at; up/down/left/right = cursor control keys, jump = Z, fire = X.

    Cons

    None, nothing, nada.
