Version: ManyCam Virtual Webcam 2.4.39
"It works and its easy to use"
Pros: Very little (if any) set up required, and it's free. Lots of features. Enables incompatible webcams to be used with Yahoo Messenger.
Cons: Logo on screen, but that's the price you pay for it being free. I imagine paying for it will enable you to remove it.
Summary: If anyone has seen most of my other reviews, I'm pretty scathing of software that's badly written or doesn't live up to its promise. However, this worked perfectly.
I had a cheap webcam that refused to work with the Yahoo Messenger due to an incompatibility problem. I just installed this and Bingo! it worked, acting like a buffer between the cam and the Messenger. No setup required either., as it automatically set the USB camera as the source.
Unfortunately, it comes with one of those nuisance 'Ask' browser toolbars. However, if you take the installation process carefully you can untick the option to prevent it from being installed.

you can remove the logo feature under the "text over video tab," for free! just uncheck the box
