"It's not good just because people say it is."
Pros
My brother's cousin's dad says it's the best.
Cons
almost zero data backing up its rep.
Summary
MB has sucked for years, yet people swear by it without really knowing why. Run it alongside something like SuperAntiSpyware, which actually detects things.

As people are stating, word of mouth over actual results. "It's good because lots of people say it is." Meanwhile I can't recall the last time I saw MB catch so much as a tracking cookie. See for yourself. See how many simple trackers it catches compared to decent free malware apps like SuperAntiSpyware, or even Ad-Aware. MB rides on rep, and little more.

If you want data backing up Malwarebytes ability then look at the many reviews. Professionals often call it the best malware removal program because it is one of the best.

That's hilarious... given this side-by-side testing of MBAM and SuperAntiSpyware:

You state that this product has almost zero data to back up its reputation, which is a bald-faced LIE: At nearly every anti-malware forum across the internet, security experts (whose day-in day-out job is to remove malware) praise this product for its effectiveness. This product's reputation is due to the fact that many tens of thousands of users find it capable of cleaning nasties from their computer that got past their anti-virus.
You make the incredibly arrogant claim that this product "sucks", and you expect people to accept that why? From your vast experience? Your comments take the cake for being one of the silliest pieces of drivel I have ever encountered on CNET. -

Testing with both MBAM and SAS. -
So people should not trust more than 100,000,000 downloads and consistently good reviews for years and should instead trust.........
you?
I encourage people to test exactly as you have suggested.
