"An Essential Security Tool !"
Pros
Without a doubt, the best anti-malware program available. The free version is only scan-on-demand, but is extremely good at what it does. Also, it updates pretty much every day.
Cons
None that I've encountered. I don't know what CNET's deal is with the interface - I've always found it easy to use and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to a beginner. (Power Users ???)
Summary
MBAM is a classic example of the power of "word of mouth" : they've made their free version so good that it's nearly universally recommended by "experts" and non-experts alike - I mean, you'd have to be crazy not to have it installed on your computer - and subsequently, they probably sell tons more paid versions than a company that may have a pretty good paid version, but offers only a so-so free one. I hope other software companies (and not just security) are taking notice of this crafty strategy. Of course, it only works if you have a good program to begin with, and MBAM is exceptional. I'm grateful to MalwareBytes for such a fine program.
