"It works...at a snail's pace on full scan"
It did catch a HKey attachment that both McAffee and Webroot Spy Sweeper didn't. Caught it on a "quick scan"(?)...about a nine minute scan on my computer. FYI, Webroot's Spy Sweeper does a full scan in about 18-20 minutes tops. McAffee Total Protection does a full scan in about an hour and a half. Malwarebytes is a "live" proactive program that tries to stop malware as you encounter it on the internet.
Absolute torture to do a full scan on this software! It takes "many" hours to do a scan(reminds me of the old dial up internet connection days for downloads). It has no automatic shutdown after running a scan thus you can wake up with your computer still running the next morning from last night's scan...that's really secure, isn't it?! It has no markers that would let you know how how long it takes to scan the drives...and no markers for letting you know the total files and folders that are to be scanned. Why do so many users and CET reviewers like this software? Come on, at least warn people of how long a full scan takes. In comparison to the duration of other malware that do full scans this software has to rank dead last. FYI, I am running the paid Pro version complete with all updates. I had plenty of time to write this review as this software is scanning D/ drive now at a painful 67 minutes and still counting!
If you like waiting in line and dial up internet then this malware remover would serve you well. It does work. But if you believe that a full scan of all your computer's files and folders ought to be a regular scheduled thing and you value your time and computer's temperature then I'd strongly recommend that you avoid "Malwarebytes Anti-Malware". If I may make a pun, here, "Malwarebytes will take a byte out of your time". Hey, could over 5200 submitted user reviews(nearly all positive ones)along with CET Pro's glowing review, all, be so mistaken? Well, buy the software and find out for yourself. I did and I regretted it. Many Thanks!
