    "Solid Addition to Security"

    November 10, 2014  |   By DarkWorks1962

    Version: Malwarebytes Anti-Malware 2.0.3.1025

    Pros

Works great as a superb layer of protection with the integrated anti-virus and firewall within Microsoft. No need to purchase yearly subscriptions that are a day late, a week late, or more in updating the latest zero-day trash. Runs smooth, no lag or drag on system resources. Get the premium and get peace of mind!

    Cons

None. Been using this product since they came out.

    "excellent product"

    November 9, 2014  |   By ChoiceVoice

    Version: Malwarebytes Anti-Malware 2.0.3.1025

    Pros

-it is a standard in tech circles for cleaning infected systems. for those that frequent malware cleaning sites, you will find that this product is part of their solution.
-pc mag highly recommends this product.
    -good company
-signatures are focused on finding newer malware that your regular antivirus might miss.
-an excellent demand scanner. and the paid upgrade runs light on my system.

    Cons

-demand scanner may install startup (i can't remember if it does ... just remove it in settings by turning off scheduled scan, or with winpatrol).

    Summary

i love this company, they caught iobit from stealing their signatures.

"Free version allowed a dangerous trojan onto system"

    November 3, 2014  |   By CIAdj

    Version: Malwarebytes Anti-Malware 2.0.3.1025

    Pros

    Simple install, runs in background

    Cons

Free version allowed a dangerous trojan onto my system. Started getting memory loads and system lock ups from dllhost.exe COM surrogate, multiple instances. Took forever to solve the problem, Hitman Pro finally did the trick. Does nothing to block tracking cookies. In general, a waste of money, if the free version is an example.

    Summary

Don't waste your time or money.

"It really likes to gobble up nasties! BRAVO"

    November 1, 2014  |

    Version: Malwarebytes Anti-Malware 2.0.3.1025

    Pros

Does not take forever and ever to do its job. People need to remind them selves that this program, while it catches some spyware, is not an anti-spyware program. There is the also free 'Superantispyware' program for that. Malwarebytes CORRECTLY presumes that if you download and install it that you want to be rid of malware. DUH? To that end, it automatically starts a scan upon first startup, which action can easily be changes in 'settings' Some user interaction is expected. Not everything in life is done FOR you.

    Cons

    None seen.

    Summary

Since 1988, I've been fixin' these critters we call computers and have observed that 99.9% of problems with them truly are Promlems In Chair, Not In Computer (PICNIC), including my own 'problems' My heartfelt recommendation is to read, read, read - read thoroughly all instructions with any program, including Malwarebytes and Antispyware. You'll be much happier for doing so

"Trial version started automatically with no permission."

    October 31, 2014  |

    Version: Malwarebytes Anti-Malware 2.0.3.1025

    Pros

    Works well.

    Cons

Downloaded free version because I don't want to try the trial version. They force you onto the trial version by automatically activating it.

"Year after year has caught and removed nasties"

    October 31, 2014  |

    Version: Malwarebytes Anti-Malware 2.0.3.1025

    Pros

Removes even what the big name antivirus companies left behind.. and not just malware.. some real nasties messing things up royally.

    Cons

They aren't considered to be a complete antivirus although there has yet to be something it missed.

    Summary

I rate it far above AVG, Norton or Mcafee.. It has caught and corrected computer disabling malware that those others have missed year after year.

    "Still crashes"

    October 30, 2014  |   By howardferns

    Version: Malwarebytes Anti-Malware 2.0.3.1025

    Pros

It is capable of finding bad stuff, and sometimes picks up things that Super Anti-Spyware doesn't - but only if you have the patience to get it working.

    Cons

A long time user of MBAM, I have it installed on a desktop pc and a netbook. The latest update has not fixed the problems I was experiencing before. It still crashes during updating. If I start the program again it will then carry on - if I am lucky, because sometimes it will then crash a second time. Then when I actually get the scan running at last, and toddle off to do something else, I come back after some time to see what it has found, only to find that it had crashed during the scan. And this happens on both computers, not just one of them.

    Summary

In a nutshell, very disappointing. What was once an excellent piece of freeware I now have a word for that I wouldn't like to repeat on here. Two stars because it is better than nothing.

    "Found buried infection"

    October 27, 2014  |   By batsdude1

    Version: Malwarebytes Anti-Malware 2.0.3.1025

    Pros

Easy and found an infection that had gotten past Avast's scans and installation monitoring.

    Cons

None yet that I can see.

    Summary

Very effective scan and removal system. It found some spyware, as well as the aforesaid infection. I could not get my Avast to start upon boot no matter what I tried, and could not get Windows Defender to start either. This took care of all of it. HIGHLY recommended!

    Cons

    Summary

The best out of everything that is up there.
