"The best e-mail filter application I have used"
Pros: I have been using this application for over a year on a computer that is used to test communication software. Mailwasher has never had a conflict with any other appliciation on this system and as a result of its flexible settings we have never lost a legitimate message, even those that our ISP flagged as possible spam.
An incident this morning prompted me to write a review. We received two e-mails from a known friend, whose e-mail address has obviously been hijacked. The ISP flagged both of them as possible spam. MailWasher flagged one to bounce and both of them to blacklist. Because we could view the messages on the ISP mail server without downloading them, we could see that one of them was legitimate. We deleted the possibly dangerous message while still being able to download the legitimate message.
Having tried other products of this type, I can say truthfully that MailWasher rates among the very best of all similar applications.
Cons: Only one small problem occurred with system settings during the initial installation, but it was promptly solved by their very excellent product support people.

"Best Spam Filter Program Available"
Pros: Having used other spam filters, their biggest shared weakness is that they first download the e-mails to your computer before making their dermination as to whether or not a message is spam. Not so with Mailwasher.
Mailwasher does all its checking while your messages are still on the mail server. This allows you to go through your messages and delete all the junk before they get downloaded.
If you tend to be the target of a lot of spam, that is truly a great feature, as 1) it saves a tremendous amount of time not having to wait on useless e-mails to download, and 2) it helps protect your computer by deleting messages with dangerous payloads before they get to your e-mail client.
Cons: The learning feature does not always give expected results.
