"Great software"
Version: MailStore Home 4.0.0.3493
Pros
Simple to use
Cons
Could do with smoothing out the edges and refiningit a bit. Am awaiting version 5 which as I understand it is a little overdue in it's release..

"NOT user friendly at all."
Version: MailStore Home 4.0.0.3493
Pros
I like that it only crashed my system 4 out of 5 times that I "tried" to use it.
Cons
How about adding a SIMPLE restore function.
Summary
If you are looking for an email backup program... Keep looking! If I'd have gotten a decent reply out of their customer support, maybe things would turn out better, but this software is ONLY good at being difficult and cryptic at best!

"Single-user Exchange Archive -- Perfect Fit"
Version: MailStore Home 4.0.0.3493
Pros
Easy to install and intuitive to use. Great features for freeware. Works on Windows7x64. Does exactly what I need it to do: archive from various Exchange Mailboxes without needing to point Outlook to each one.
Cons
So far, none.
Summary
I was looking for a simple way to backup the mailboxes of former employees for compliance purposes. We use Exchange 2003 on a shared host, so I have very few options for server-side control. MailStore allowed me to easily enter login credentials for the departed users, download all of the Inbox (with subfolders) and Sent items, and create a local archive file that I can put onto a DVD for cheap offline storage.

"Windows 7 / Live Mail Import"
Version: MailStore Home 4.0.0.3493
Pros
Smoothe Install, very self explanitary
Cons
none software works good
Summary
I was looking for an email migration tool. And even though that is not the primary function of your software.
Update - I have now worked with the archive and search functon ( I have over 5000 emails) much better than any Microsoft Mail program for searching large email archives.
It worked flawlessly, I wanted to stop using Outlook 2003 at home, My new computer came with Windows 7 Home.
This does not have an email client built in but you can download Windows Live Mail. This email software works good for home use.
The only problem is that Windows 7 / Live Mail does not import Outlook files. And Outlook will only export CSV and other similar file types.
To get this to work I performed the following steps
1) Use Mailstore to read all of my Outlook email.
2) Export to "File System" using the eml format
3) Export to a directory such as C:\temp\email
4) In Live Mail use the Import Function
5) Select "Windows Mail" format
6) Select the directory such as C:\temp\email
I also can see the advantage of archiving my email outside of my email client.

"Works well when logged in (Google mail)"
Version: MailStore Home 4.0.0.3493
Pros
Mail alert is very good
Cons
Too many acts before you can read mail.
Summary
When I hear the mail notification sound and right clck the envelope I open the mailbox and get the google intro page, where I am being asked to submit my google address and password. Sometimes, at irregular intervals I have to indicate, that I want to stay signed in. After having done this I go to the "Google bar"near the top of the screen and click the red "M" to open the mailbox. What do I do wrong, because in my opinion, there must be a more direct way to read your mail.
