  Pros

  Free, allows downloading e-mail headers and bodies in text form without exposing computer to spam tactics or viruses.

  Cons

  Doesn't automatically connect with e-mail servers at launch, won't remember some preferences, such as sort messages by date. Memory hog when analyzing for spam.

  Summary

  For the price (free) it's great, but could be improved with some simple tweaks.

  Filters out a lot of unwanted spam/emails and is fairly easy to install and use.

  Cons

  It's a memory hog! When it does it's check on the servers, it freezes my CPU sometimes and I have to use the Windows Apps to cancel it. There's no multi-tasking when this program is running and I have 1 GM of RAM also.....if they could fix the memory issue, it would be a solid 5 Star program!

  It does get rid of an impressive amount of spam.

  Cons

  Besides not being able to import the white list from OE, this program DELETES messages when unattended, making you lose important messages you didn't even know were sent to you, even if they are not on the blacklist or bad phrases list. DO NOT USE. It can ruin your life or your career.

  This review was originally posted on VersionTracker.com.<br />My ISP allows an almost infinite number of user names for the POP3 accounts -i.e. xxx@abcd.efg.co.uk, where xxx can be almost anything. Hence I receive no end of bounced emails, supposedly from me. Mail Box Dispatcher allows me to define the real user names and delete emails from all other so-called senders. Additionally it has a white list, black list and a list for bad phrases. Wonderful; just what I have wanted -and free too!

• Simply too slow

  Works in much the same way as Qurb so catches ALL unrecognised emails, and gives you the option to delete automatically. However we found it had a fairly high error rate, deleting mails that were genuinely for us that we could see no reason for their deletion.

  Cons

  This program is unbelievably slow. It builds large log files of black listed phrases and addresses which it goes through every time to check any new mail that comes in. Once we clicked the button to check for new mail we would then honestly leave our computer for 5-10 minutes and our computer is only 3 months old, so not slow at all. After a painful month with this package we have uninstalled it and frankly it's good riddance.

  Pros

  I was being inundated by spam. This little program takes care of it without my having to see it. I use Thunderbird for email, but it's filters just funnel the junk to my trash can- this program deletes the garbage before it gets to Thunderbird. What a great app. It's small, unobtrusive, and doesn't take much resources. It handles the spam quite well, has a simple interface, and is easy to use. It's free, and not adware or spyware. This one is a keeper!

  Pros

  Install and set-up was easy for several accounts. It allows me to add names to a white list (I don't bother with a black list), view all the current e-mails on my ISP's server, delete all the rubbish, or anything too large (I have dial-up only), and then use Outlook to download the rest. Saves so much time and reduces the chances of infection via corruption significantly. Excellent!
