Version: Mahjong Escape: Ancient Japan 1.0.0.1
"Interesting but overall does not live up to its promises of being different"
Pros: Colorful, have all the standards for this type of puzzle including the ability to have free tiles show. Very good color screens, different levels of difficulty and easy to set up. Good game for beginner or casual player. Two modes of play, classic mode and the reason we bought it the Emperor mode. You are led through about 50 plus puzzles taking you through the Japanese eras of their history.
Cons: The game was disappointing in emperor mode as the only rewards were a few scrolls of wisdom and after completing the puzzle nothing special happens. No historical references to the eras you are going through, only a few pictures of Japan, although the ones included are good, and once solve the final puzzle it asks if you want to start over. It had the opportunity of being something special and settled for an ordinary game with some pretty pictures.
