"Not really"
Version: Magix Website Maker 4.0
Pros
Love that it's online
Cons
Not told ahead of time that if you want the "pro" look, that it costs a monthly fee.
Summary
Not sure why I had to download anything because it's an online program. Immediately deleted it when I saw there was a monthly fee attached if I wanted a professional looking site instead of just a photo album or something equivalent. I'm sure the program is good but it's not for me.

"It's OK, but far from great."
Version: Magix Website Maker 4.0
Pros
Easy to use. A good learning tool if this is your first attempt at building a website. Fun for creating a family website.
Cons
It does cost to get the better features. Downloading pictures is somewhat cubmersome. On line storage and interaction is often slow.
Summary
Great as a learning tool and to play with, but once you get the feel for creating your own website, time to move along to something better.

"Fair to Middle"
Version: Magix Website Maker 4.0
Pros
While it had many nice features this creater was not the one for me
Cons
It took me to a place on the internet that I did not want to be at. Thus it is not as free standing as Microsofts old Front Page program.
Summary
Better off trying to locate a used edition of a free standing website creater.

"Not FreeWare"
Version: Magix Website Maker 4.0
Pros
I never got a chance to try it.
Cons
Shareware. Advertised as freeware.
Summary
I click to start and it asks for a product key. This is Shareware. This is categorized wrong.

"Requires online registration; can only be used online"
Version: Magix Website Maker 4.0
Pros
None that I could see.
Cons
21 megs of download, but you can only use it online???
Then what was the point of the 21 megs???*Summary
When I download free software, I expect it to run on my computer without having to be forced to register on someone's website (which optionally asks people to pay for server space, etc), and then run the program from and on their website.
I registered, then decided I didn't want to create a website online (all I wanted was a way to edit my HTML code!). Although the description fits what it did, it wasn't all that clear to me, or I wouldn't have downloaded it (I'm totally in the dark as to what 21 megs* was for!!!).
I have no idea what their Flash mechanism does, but, I am no longer interested in finding out. I wanted an unobtrusive HTML editor on my computer, not a risky, what-happens-if-their-server-or-my-computer-fails-or-the-internet-is-slow scenario, not to mention potential, non-secure, accesses to my HTML.
Blame me if I misunderstood its intent, but, IMHO, that's the fault of the description, not mine. This "program" (21 megs?!?!*) wasn't worth my time or trouble.
* (based on their website, I'm guessing that the huge, seemingly useless, download, was to extract or run toolbars and other gimmicks, that can be easily downloaded from other websites (e.g., Google toolbar); still, it was pointless, as far as I'm concerned)
