"Basic functions work well. Serious flaws"
Version: MagicPDF 2.0.1.669
Pros
One stop shopping for conversion of pdf to make minor edits to pdf files or convert to other format for editing
Cons
No password removal from pdf's.
Application window cannot be resized.
Support is responsive but very defensive about problems.Summary
Almost all the pdf files i work with are password protected so i have to remove the password before i start. I use AnyBiz password remover and the product works after that. When i asked support about it they insisted that there was no such thing as a password protected pdf. Online bank account statements are always protected and I use it to make notations about checks.
When you open Magic, it opens in an application window maximized to the full screen, or screens in my case. This is annoying enough, but if you restore the window to non maximized size, the program defaults to a tiny window, where all the pdf files you choose to open within this window are crammed. The individual pdf'd can be resized but not the application window (without maximizing it). There are very awkward work arounds for this,
Support was extremely sarcastic and derisive when they first said the application window could not ever be resized. I felt that the support did not really understand the product very well. -

Summary
I tried to convert some DOC-files with text only and one other DOC-file with text and an agglomeration of graphics.
The PDF-files obtained were correct and beautiful.
Nevertheless I rate MagicPDF 2.0.1.669 only with four stars as I didn“t try very big and challenging files.
