Though this promising disc-image creator has most of its tricks down pat, it still drops the occasional card from its sleeve. MagicISO Maker does a reasonable job creating burnable ISO disc images from DVDs and CDs. It converts files between ISO and BIN formats and transforms files in most other formats to ISO or BIN. In addition, it burns ISOs, converts several kinds of disc images to Nero's NRG format (though we did not test this feature), and creates CD and DVD boot discs. However, it can't handle audio CDs; its interface is far from ergonomic or elegant; and we discovered a bug that sometimes causes the application to hang when creating a custom data disk. Also, the 300MB trial restriction makes it impossible to fully test the program. In the end, performance issues and a good-but-not-dazzling feature set keep MagicISO Maker from a higher rating. We're hoping future editions will pull the rabbit out of the hat.Publisher's description

"Rubbish product, avoid at all cost"
Pros: Was cheap, $30
Cons: No support, no reply to e-mail, product loses lots of data when creating ISO.
After you pay, it actually loses some functionality, and features that worked in the free version stops working. Avoid this product.Summary: An awfully bad product, with no support for paying customers.

Version: MagicISO Maker 5.5 build 265
Pros: Used to work well, but somehow...
Cons: Crashed my laptop. I was stuck in an endless cycle of reboots after installing this yesterday afternoon. Took me a good 22 hours to reverse the damage, and I'm still working on restoring my data.
Summary: I hope the developer looks into this.
